I hear what you are saying D5 and I agree with you to a certain extent, but even living the dream of playing in the NBA can become a "JOB" and even the best jobs can suck if the people around you are acidic.

I think PJ has flat out lost the team. I also think management in large part due to ownership should take a good chunk of the blame. They gutted any chance of this team being reasonably competitive.

In fairness to PJ he can only do so much with the talent he has, but losing still sucks. And getting screamed at when you simply don't have the talent to compete at this point doesn't help. That's why tanking does no good for moral. You think the players (including Sonic-Fan) are enjoying showing up to work these days?

I still think PJ gets a chance to coach this team next year. But after 30 games if there hasn't been a noticeable improvement he's toast.

i wouldn't have a problem with a 30 game evaluation period (ironic huh?) for pj next season. i mean you have to look at the whole situation here. i am not going to go into all of the details, but look at the big picture this season. this hasn't exactly been a stable franchise.
Don't act like you're not impressed.

^Look at Bob Weiss...he was only given about 30 games to prove he could be a head coach in the NBA until he was given the ax. What has PJ done to deserve almost a year and a half evaluation to prove himself?

If this was a ownership group that was committed to Seattle, I think we would see a change coming this offseason. But this group doesn't care about what's best for the team right now, so I think we're stuck with him until Clay gets his way (IF he gets his way).

At least Bob had his magic tricks, PJ on the otherhand brings nothing positive to offer us.

I don't know if Bob Weiss is a relevant comparison. He had a couple of dismal seasons coaching the Hawks and his Sonics team had a much more talented roster.

But I agree that it's obvious the team doesn't care right now. I wouldn't expect any changes unless the team is sold or gets close to moving. The ownership has to be happy seeing the team fail so more fans are alienated.
