I've been saying that Nash's MVPs were overhyped, and CP3 is making it look like childs play. I wish CP3 wouldn't have gotten into it with Rafer Alston/my Rockets, but dude is absolutely out of this world. He's great for the NBA, and I really like watching him play more than Lebron, Kobe, Wade, etc.
The successful amount of pNr alley-oops to Tyson Chandler is RIDICULOUS!

CP3 is def. on top of the list right now for me. Things are changing week after week though, but as of now, CP3 is the clear choice imo.
Tmac is def. in discussion in the top 10, but I'm just not sold on him having a shot of winning it.
Lebron is dipping with team performance, as is Kobe.
KG is still def. in the mix.

People talked so much about Nash's 2 MVPs mainly because 1) he won them in his early 30s where almost everyone said he's starting to break down and not worth his contract and 2) he and his style of play had bought back the run-and-fun style to the NBA.

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

Heh, not really an argument, just a personal feeling. I'm just bitter that the guy I'd rather have over David West two years ago isn't performing up to his potential for my team right now.
Understandable.

The guy has just been insane, I can't phathom how Nash got so much hype when he won MVP, and Chris Paul isn't getting the same even though he's playing better and on both ends.
I think a lot of it has to do with tougher competition and his main competition being the two biggest stars in the league.

Paul should win the MVP and is my favorite, but I don't think Dwight Howard gets enough love on here. He's the best player on a 45 win team (and a team that, if you look at their remaining schedule, has a legit shot at 55 wins), he shoots a great percentage from the floor, is the best rebounder in the league, and can be a prescence defensively. The amount of attention he draws from opposing teams allows guys like Lewis and Turkoglu wide open shots and he can single handedly get opposing front lines into foul trouble all by himself.
He's definitely got to be in the top 5.

Hold on a minute... Last week Kobe had become a clear favorite on nearly everyone's list. But after dropping 2 close games on the road to the Hornets and Rockets w/o Bynum, Mihm, Gasol and Ariza, he's suddenly #2? Did anyone really think the Lakers would even be competitive in those 2 games with Walton playing PF at times?
Give me a break...
And the Lakers are still tied with the Hornets, and have had numerous injuries to virtually the entire team. The Lakers bigs right now are Odom, Mbenga, and Turiaf... And thats it. Thats pathetic.

Paul had Chandler, Ryan Bowen?, and Melvin Ely? yesterday..
Peja, Wells and Wright combined for 54 points... It works both ways. Plus the Hornets played the Bulls at home. The Lakers played the 2nd hottest team ever in their own building.
And Fisher and Farmar were not only 5-14 shooting, but they allowed Alston and Jackon to combine for 10-15 from 3pt land and 50 points.

Uhhh, weak arguement you know why.
Because your team is deep, and the Hornets aren't. Then you guys Got Gasol in a trade like 2 weeks after bynum when down.
Mihm no point of bringing him into this because he hasn't played in a while, and they are still winning. And he hasn't been playing for the last 3 years. So he is irrelevent.
Seriously, considering your injuries majority of the time happened to roll players except bynum (Who was replaced by Gasol). There is not point of trying to make the Lakers worst than the Hornets. There is a reason why Lakers are better than the hornets.

The Hornets aren't a deep team? That's news to me

Hornets bench has been inconsistent and low-scoring for most of the year, though playing better of late. I don't see how someone could overlook the state of their bench, as it is the most common thing I hear regurgitated by those pretending to know a lick about the Hornets.

Depth is only an advantage/equalizer if your team stays injury-free. You'd always prefer a fully healthy starting 5 + 2 bench than an injury-riddled starting five + 5 bench.
Nothing hurts more than having to adjust your lineups because of injuries, especially if the injury happens to your frontcourt (for obvious defense and spacing reasons).

Weak argument? Looks like a pretty good argument. Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant are biding for the MVP trophy and Kobe has been doing it with multiple starters and key player out for long periods of time. While relative the hornets have been healthy. I really don't see how that is a weak argument.
