One of the Biggest Advantage we have come Playoff Time is..
Coaching!
I truly believe that Stan is the best coach in the East.
Really when you look at the teams in the playoffs in the East..nobody really jumps at your mind as a good coach.
Doc Rivers - I think all us Magic fans can elaborate to that
Flip Saunders - He has a nice group of players..reason why Pistons are good and smart is because of Veteran play.
Mike Brown - He isn't a good coach either. That team just comes down to Lebron's play
Sam Mitchell - LOL Raptos got some good depth but Mitchell before he had a good team was considered one of worst coaches in the League
Eddie Jordan - Great Offensive Coach, Terrible Defense Coach
Stan is better than any coach in the East IMO. He's prepared for every game. He makes great adjustments. He's a defensive minded coach with a great offensive team. And if our players can make the adjustments our coach makes. We will be the sleeper team that can make a playoff run in the Eastern Conf.

Stan is the man, He is developing an impeccable record of getting the most out of young teams and never missing the playoffs. The game has passed Riley a bit and I agree with your assessment. Its still unbelievable to me that a few months ago I had to fight tooth and nail with Magic fans that didn't want Stan at all.
The second greatest coach in the history of the organization is Billy Donovan. If he doesn't do the waffle we'd be at the bottom of the playoff race or worse.

Doc Rivers is a good coach, but of course Magic fans will never admit that. I'm a Cleveland fan and it was hard to come to grips with the fact that Bill Belicheck was a horrible coach in Cleveland, but obviously not a horrible coach any more.
It's a good point though. SVG is without question one of the top coaches. In my opinion Mo Cheeks is the best coach in the East, but SVG is right there with him.
Mike Brown still hasn't proven himself to me. He outcoached Flip Saunders last season, but Flip Saunders is not a good coach in my opinion. Sam Mitchell hasn't proven himself. While Doc is a good coach in my opinion he does have a lot to prove. Boylan is an unknown to me....
SVG and Mo Cheeks are the class of the East.

The players call him squeaky, because his voice squeaks. At least I heard Dwight call him that in an interview. Last year I complained all year that our coach and assistant coaches were not good at comunicating to our players. I think SVG is a great comunicator and teacher. Our guy's are playing far and away more confident and more intelligent than they did last year. We are better in every category. We added Lewis and Mo, and we lost Darko and Hill. It's all about coaching. Way better coach than Brian Hill.

I think Stan is an excellent coach -- and especially good in Orlando because he is a good teacher as well as a good Xs and Os guy and someone who adapts well on the fly, too. That makes him a perfect fit for Orlando -- and he's got guys who will listen to him. Were there really a lot of people who objected to hiring him? I don't remember it that way.
And you know what? I think Doc is a good coach for the Celtics. What is Doc best at? Motivation, recruiting and communication. He managed to recruit a very good team this year. I don't think guys like KG, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen or Sam Cassell are going to want to listen to other good coaches like Rick Carlisle or George Karl or Larry Brown who are going to lecture them about "playing the right way.'' They know how to play the game and don't want someone telling them every 5 minutes. They just want someone who respects the veterans, can refocus them when they get off track and point out some things that are going on on the floor that they might not be able to see in the middle of the game and can recognize what they might be going through as a former player. He's not going to berate them and focus on the obvious. Vets like that. Unfortunately for Doc, he had too many youngsters in Orlando, at least his last couple years here. He's found a perfect fit himself with this Boston team.
