Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

A) Thanks for the article Rich - There wasn't much news around regarding Wallace, as I remember. As I remember it, once Rashard signed, all the other big FAs (including Wallace) signed extensions rather quickly afterwards with their current teams, without much general news about team's interest. There were rumors flying as they often do.

Wallace actually signed a couple of weeks after Lewis. It was no sure thing. Lots of teams reported wanted to do a sign and trade. Especially the Mavericks who wanted to pair Wallace and Josh Howard. Reports had that Wallace was nearly traded to the Lakers in a 3 way deal that would have sent Richard Jefferson to the Cats Odom to the Nets and Gerald Wallace to the Lakers. MJ though killed the deal. With the Cats not trading him and the only team under the cap signing Rashard he was pretty much forced to take what the Cats were offering.
