The only question is if the person who can beat an NBA player is on these boards. Players who are in college can beat some pros and some people have serious drug or injury problems that derailed their careers. I even bet there are one or two high school players in the country who could beat some NBA bench players right now.

What standard do you play at?

Unless you're playing at least high level D1 (in which case I doubt you'd be posting here), then you're wrong.
I'm not on any teams. All i'm saying is I have been working on my three point shot since I was 12 and its pretty efficient now and at times I don't miss for long stretches like the other day I hit about 11 of 12 threes.

If you don't have playing experience on any level, then chances are that your shot won't fall with the same consistency (ESPECIALLY) if an NBA player was guarding you. I can hit all day in a gym, but if an NBA player was in my face then things could very easily change. Things may also not change, but if you don't have playing experience on at least a high school or AAU level, then it'd be very difficult to continue your hot shooting in a game.

When people speak it's from majority down, I'm not talking about the exceptions. 99.5% of members here could NOT beat an NBA player.

That's too low. I say about 99.99% here can't beat an NBA player.

id say 100%...if you could beat one youd be playing in the league. Don Nelson, Jerry Sloan, Mo Cheeks, Scott Skiles would dominate everyone in here as well.
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

im not playing in the league...it's a lot easier to beat an NBA player and not make it into the league than you think...however it's also a lot harder to beat an NBA than many might think...

-Even though you weigh more, I doubt you have more "functional" strength than an NBA player. You may weigh more, but they'd still have their way with you in the post.

Give_Wade_The_Max
-I hope you're kidding...Jason Kidd? Wow. You realize he has an advantage in every category, right? Your ego is larger than your skills, I guarantee it. I doubt you even dribble without looking at the ball, for godsakes!

The Orlando Magic Guy (sorry, don't remember username)
-Come on...I really doubt Thornton tried the tinitest bit...he torched the Nuggets a month ago. He was TOYING with you.

What all have in common
1. All probably look down while dribbling = easy steals
2. At best, will make 2 uncontested jumpshots out of however many are taken
3. Not as fast/strong/smart as NBA player
4. Egos bigger than game
5. If you were semi-good, you'd be outside practicing rather than racking up "nerd" like posts by the 1000's. Obviously quoted "nerd" from one of the 3 who said it.

Mr. I know everything about basketball explain to me what functional strength is. I warm up with 225 on the bench, strength is no issue. If you got game you got game no matter what you wieigh and if you know how to use it to your advantage it's definitely a plus. I've played people of all sizes and strength varies I played skinny dudes who were strong for no reason at all, but ultimately when it came down to it they were beat up and wore out. Not over confident in my skills but im definitely confident.

When I talk about basketball Im talking 1 on 1 streetball, where there really arent to many rules. And guess what I dont have to look at the ball when I dribble. If you don't have any skills talk about yourself dont be judging others. Oh yeah most people that post on here are usually at work that's why they arent outside practicing.

Come on dude you cant be serious...11-12 threes is nothing

My story...Im 6-5 210...Was actually 6-4 two years ago in high school...Anyways i grew up in Central Florida which is a hotbed for basketball talent...I went to West Orange, grew up with everyone on the team, but never tryed out(i was more worried about going to college,UCF baby)...Anyways i got scouted at a rec center right by my neighborhood asked to play at a couple different places, one thing lead to another and i had to choose between small college to play ball(st. leo) or go to uni. for school(ucf)...I chose school like i always have and went to UCF...And i think about playing ball all the time and kind of regret it.

Could i beat NBA talent...Um i doubt it...Their all so big and strong, as well as skilled...'

If i had kept playing?...Yes i couldve beat NBA talent.

Theif just curoius whats you height, and did u play high school, college, and how did it lead to nbdl.

Also i agree with those who say 99% of people cant beat NBA players

Ive known far to many wannabee ballers in the parks and recs who are mostly white (no offense) kids, 5-11,6 foot, who would definetely get on here and say something like that.

Same kids who try 30 times in a row to dunk and get hung everytime...Man i almost got it!!! LOL gotta love it

I routinely hit 9/10 consistently in practice when I use to play. It's mostly repetition / muscle memory. It's a whole different ballgame when you have a top notch player guarding you.
