Tremendous talent, instincts, maturity, and poise. If you were to envision the ideal frame of a PG, it'd probably be closest to Rajon's (albeit with more bulk) with his longer-than-his-legs arms and huge paws.

Physically, he's like a cat; tremendous agility and coordination. He's my favorite player to watch.

Gant's comment got me thinking, could Rondo be an All Star in the next few years? I went to ESPN, and the list of Eastern PGs. Now Allan Ray is still on the list, but they have moved Kidd, so one or two other guys maybe have moved I didn't notice, but below were the guys I thought were generally the best PGs, and it gets weak near the bottom. I have Cassell at roughly number 8 in my mental quick estimation, and when you take Arenas out due to combo status, Billups, Bibby, and Miller are the tops in terms of ability and pedigree. Rondo has to be right there behind them now with his play, though maybe Calderon is ahead. Food for thought.

1. Chauncey Billups
2. Mike Bibby
3. Gilbert Arenas (Eh, not really a PG)
4. Andre Miller
5. Jose Calderon (flash in the pan/one year wonder?)
6. Devin Harris
7. Ray Felton (impressive but very up and down whenever i've watched, and im extending that to Carolina blue days)
8. Sam Cassell
9. TJ Ford (injuries)
10. Stephon Marbury (oh how the one mighty have fallen)

the thing is the all-star ballot doesn't seperate the guards, so you could have 2 sg's start

like kobe and t-mac in 07 for example

rondo will not start for the east next season, let's be reasonable here

he is not getting the second most guard votes, which is what it takes to be a starter

i dont think that means we cant talk about where rondo is in relation to other point guards, which is more what i got from gants statement. who cares who actually starts in the all star game? i dont because its a joke, how many years did yao start before he earned it? hes been an all star six times and started as a rookie with only 14 and 8 averages. i mean, i dont put any stock in the "popular" vote.

i think the interesting thing is, how many of those guys on the list would you say, rondo cant come close to arenas and billups? (id certainly have arenas ahead of bibby as a player, not as a point) thats a pretty strong statement about rondos improvement and talent

Think about it. With Kidd in Dallas and Rondo improving rapidly, who in the East is guaranteed to beat him out?

Especially if the Celtics win the title- then everyone will be voting for him.

so he said he would possibly start not definitely, and obviously you are right about the balloting

and the second statement is really what i was responding to, so theres more than one thought pattern there, and i didnt get your thoughts on the second

Come no matter what that was a redicoulous statement.

Best thing about Rondo is he's the last young guy we have that we can hype.

Super hype attention span.

Once there was Gerald,AL,Gomes,West,Tony Allen... now there is just Rondo.

You look at the PGs in the East now, but then consider there could be about 3 more coming into the East that will be on Rondo's level next year via the draft.

And you'll always have players like Billups,Areneas around that Rondo has NO shot at being good as. Then you have all the stars at SG. It would be really difficult for Rondo to be coach vote in back-up.

Rondo is rapidly crossing over into the "stud" catergory.. He is not living on his potential anymore..

right just like lebron and telfair were on the cover of espn because they were both NEXT.

ill take a point guard who ive seen produce in the league before i assume a rookie will be all hes hyped up to be.

beasley has been as billed, rose and gordon have not.
