You guys are barking up the wrong tree. You can't pay Maggette what he wants and you don't have the pieces for a S&T. I'd be my ass that not even a prestigious legitimate contending team like the Spurs could talk Corey into signing for the MLE. Corey is going where the money is.

I'd be amazed if AI would take MLE after making max money for so many years. But then again, he's nearing the end of his career and doesn't have rings to show for a HoF career.

Also I'm not sure how he'd fit in with what we've got going on now. We have a very balanced starting roster right now.

He would have to turn the "I" into team - as in instead of AI it would be the A Team ;-)

Corey will have plenty of time to think about it as he sits on his couch watching the playoffs on TV. Ouch.

You're right. It's been a disappointing season. Clippers fans have had really high expectations for a year we knew we'd be without two of our best players... Good luck in the playoffs

Nobody is. I'm just saying if you're looking for a guy who will fill your expectations of signing for less to play with your boy Dwight Howard then you'd probably be doing yourself a favor by switching your focus to a guy who actually fits that bill.

Maggette will be in the same locker room with the team that was a game away from the WCF two years ago, minus Sam Cassell, plus Al Thornton and a top pick this draft. Not only do we have the money we also have the team. You guys had to sit through Grant Hill's injuries, if anybody can relate to a down year because of players getting hurt I'd imagine it would be the Magic.

No offense man, but that playoff run a couple of years ago seems like ages ago. Sam is gone, he was such a huge part of that team and that run. Livingston may never make it back to where he was before he got hurt with that vicious injury. The Clips missed the playoffs last year despite Brand playing 80 games. Brand suffered a major injury before this season, will he ever be the same again? There is not guranteed that he returns next season. If Brand bolts, does Corey want to return to repeat this year again being in another losing team?

No offense taken. It seems like ages ago to you because you're an observer. If you followed the Clippers you'd be optimistic about their future, too.

I like Maggette, but I wonder can Howard, Maggette, Lewis, and Hedo all share the ball? I don't see Hedo having a problem, but Howard and Maggette are going to have to have their touches or their will be a problem. Lewis has no problem sharing the ball, to an extent. Don't forget that Lewis did complain in the beginning of the season about not getting enough touches. I can see that being a problem down the road.

He's bouncing on that knee pretty well from the (video) clips that I've seen.

Do you really think the Clippers will resign Brand, Maggette, Livingston, Powell?

Livingston is going to want a pay raise, Ross will want a pay raise, Brand will want at least what he is making.

Whatever the situation is with the Clips i think its safe to say that Maggette wont be there.

From the PG's touches? :dontknow:

Perhpas we'd ship out Jameer in the deal to give LA another young-ish PG. Yes I know that Dwight and Jameer are BFFs.

I like Thornton alot but its hard to be optimistic about their short term (next year or 2) situation. There are too many if's and too many questions (youth, injuries, contracts), and being in one tough conference.

From what I have heard through the grapevine, Arroyo is as good as gone. The Knicks are very interested in him (not surprising knowing Isiah). According to what I have heard the two teams are in talks about trying to do a deal in the offseason. Supposedly Nate Robinson would be involved in the deal. I hope like hell it's not true. :nonono: I can't stand Nate Robinson. I think he is a piece of trash.

Doubt the Clippers future all you want just like peopled doubted Houston two years ago when injuries made them one of the worst teams in the NBA two season ago.

s&t... The Knicks want to use their MLE on Artest and Arroyo will sign somewhere for more the the LLE. So they are going to need a little help if they want him. I hope Otis can get Lee for Arroyo. that would be nice.
