Teams that might covet Yi
I'd like to see the Bucks trade Yi and get a physical 4/5 to start alongside Bogut. Not sure who that is, but I was thinking what teams would want Yi the most and would give the Bucks the best deal? Lots of teams could market the hell out of Yi and would benefit from a business standpoint, but most of those teams would consider that a secondary concern and wouldn't make a lopsided trade because of that. I started to doubt that Yi would have much trade value, and then it hit me - Donald Sterling would probably go gaga over Yi.
Think about it. He has a huge Chinese population, a team that needs a huge boost to draw any attention away from the Lakers, a penchant for making business-based moves, and a willingness to give away talent in order to save money. He could trade for Yi, who's on his rookie contract for 3 more years, and he would have a huge cash cow plus an excuse to not re-sign Brand. Thornton is on his rookie deal, and Kaman played well enough early in the year to warrant moving Brand and leaving the low post to Kaman.
LAC has the pf the Bucks need and the motive to make a great offer for Yi. But I wouldn't do it for Brand alone, I would want the Clips' pick as well. Bucks would have to throw in Mo to give Clips a decent pg, which also makes sense for both teams. Mason or Gadz makes the contracts work. Yi makes the lopsidedness more tolerable for the Clips.
Yi/Mo/Gadz for Brand/#6 pick? I would love to see that go down!

Yi/Mo/terrible contract for Brand/#6 pick?
Ummmm........
Anyway, I do think that Brand should be our #1 target and I think that Yi could be the incentive to get him. This is why I think we should be looking to make a move for Marbury's expiring contract. Yi and an expiring for Brand may make some good sense from both ends.
I love the Simmons + Gadz + lotto pick for Marbury/Lee/Balkman.
Then swap Yi/Marbury for Brand/Cat Mobley.
Then CV for Kyle Lowry.
Mo - Lowry
Redd - Bell
Mason - Balkman
Brand - Lee
Bogut - MLE

Mo-Redd-Mason-Brand-Bogut still equals a losing season.
One or both of our chucksters will be gone.
I think that team you have listed could win actually, especially with another year of improvement from Bogut. It would not be a contender though, mainly because the backcourt plays no D and Mason is one of the worst starting SF's in the NBA.
I absolutely hope you're correct about the backcourt being broken up, but I won't be shocked at anything this idiotic organization does.

or am i making it worse?
Redd is a big upgrade to mobley, but i ahve a hard time seeing them wanting to pay a one dimensional scorer twice as much. I really think they'd prefer Mo to Redd as they need a backup plan if Livingston doens't pan out, and mo would be a great compliment to him even if he does.

Redd and Des for Hughes and Nocioni works. Kills 2 birds with one stone. I think we could probably squeeze a future first out of them.
Mo - Lowry
Hughes - Bell - Mobley
Nocioni - Balkman
Brand - Lee
Bogut - MLE

Trading for Brand AND the pick really ruins the point of the deal. This team needs direction. We need to know if we're looking for a win-soon team or a win-later team. Having two lottery picks definitely means win later.
If we acquire Brand, it'd make sense to keep Redd. They're both veterans and proven players. Draft picks are not. Draft picks are what got us to where we are now, in a constant state of underachieving. Don't forget, Bogut and CV were lottery picks.
So the way I see it, there's no chance in hell we trade for Brand and their pick. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we do have pieces if we wish to build a "win now" team. Mo, Yi, and our high lottery pick are good bargaining chips for proven veterans to surround CV, Redd, and Bogut. Bell and D-Mase aren't bad and could be decent backups. The trick is getting a pass-first PG and athletic, defensive SF. I say we dangle Mo, YI and our pick out there and see what we can get.

Hughes does suck.
But hear me out.
He is a decent defender, obviously much better than Redd. He has some PG skills and can create for others to help Mo with that responsibility. He played his best ball with Arenas who is a shoot first guy. His lack of an outside jumper would be helped by Nocioni and Mo who both can hit a 3. His slashing ability would be utilized by Bogut and Brand who are both good passers out of the high post. Also, he wouldn't be competing with other perimeter slashers like he was with Lebron. When he gets injured, under my scenario, we'd have Mobley and Bell to step in. This would also mean more time for Lowry and Sessions with mo covering some SG minutes. Plus, his deal is one year shorter than Redd's.
Honestly, look at that roster that I threw together. Mo is still a bad defender but who else is on that list? We'd have 4 starters who are regarded as above average defenders. That would be and amazing step in the right direction.

Couldn't agree more. The fact that Hughes contract is one year shorter than Redd's is huge to me.
"I just wanted to play because I just love the game," Jennings said. "It doesn't matter to me. I get up to play basketball. It's my job. I have to still be a professional and finish the season."

Yi is one of the last players on the team i'd want to trade yet im a big fan of the physical type PF.Plus I also agree a physical PF would compliment Bogut much better than a finesse guy.
Charles Oakley circa 1993 for example would be perfect next to Bogut, plus if Bogut got frustrated and his effort started to suffer Oakley would kick his ass.
We gotta find a PF in that mold.
I'd say play Yi at SF,he could handle that I dont realy see any reason why Yi couldnt move to SF.
Then get our physical PF and go with the physical guy with Yi & Bogut on our frontline.

Redd and Dez for Hughes and Noc works for me.
People always seem to equate Hughes to the Larry Hughes from 3-years ago that got paid $65mm and didn't live up to it. That dude is gone now. The new Hughes only has two-years left on his deal and is a good contributing player. He's not a star.....but he can contribute.
