Gerald Green

Post#1 » by CarolinaCash » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:57 am

I didn't know he got cut. Let's pick him up and let him become Jordan's pet project. No one has more raw talent in the NBA then Green....he can stand there and hit 3's all day and he can dunk with the best of him. The problem is he doesn't know how to play the game. We aren't going anywhere.....I would rather he be on the team than derek anderson.

We still have an open roster spot don't we? No need to cut DA to bring him in.

So long as he was willing to sign on the cheap, I'd take a flyer on him.

Not sure how he would get burn with Swish, Crash, Hammer, Dude, Ammo, DA on the roster already though?

Still, I think he'd be worth the chance.

I am totally on board with grabbing Gerald Green. What do we have to lose?

We won't do it, if I were the GM I would though. Might make another guy expendable for a trade.

He sucks. Can't beleve you guys wanted this clown at #13 in the draft. Theres a reason so many teams passed him, then traded twice, and cut, and out of a job.

He suffered from not going to college. But you give this kid the right coach and mentor and he'll be a legit star with the ability he's got. Just needs someone to guide him there, big mistake skipping college for this guy.

Yeah I admit there were 2 players I wanted badly instead of May......Granger or Green. I can't believe Green got cut.

poor work ethic, terrible bball iq. these are not traits that are easily overcome.

sure, what's there to lose? nothing. but why not just wait until the summer and give him a summer camp invite?

either way, my expectations for this kid are low.

At least we might have someone from this organization represent us in all-star weekend!

What we really need though is a PF who can be dominant. Can we just reincarnate 1992-1995 Larry Johnson?

Camp invite. Thats all I would do with him.

Green needs a more veteran laden team (pistons, spurs, jazz) and/or strong head coach (sloan, jackson, popovich, riley) to guide him along.

Does MJ spend time with players on the court. Maybe he could help this kid. He needs a real kick in the ass. I think MJ could make this kid work hard.

Thats why I say camp invite. Like him or hate him, Gerald has the potential to be a one hell of a player. But the problem is whether he really wants it or not.

I could understand that he hasn't really progressed if he played on deep playoff teams. But hes done two years with the Celtics in the end of their "dark ages" and then went to a Minnesota team that was destined to lose 60+.

His FG% has slid every season, his EFF numbers aren't anything great, and he just flat out sucks.

Some team might offer him a contract without seeing him play in summer leauge...but I think thats stupid.

Same probably is true of Kwame Brown, WHO SHOULD NEVER BE A BOBCAT
