Stan Shows Air Garrity The Love

Post#1 » by AdamTheGreek » Tue Mar 18, 2008 11:40 pm

"After sitting for such a long time, it's fun to get out there again," Garrity said. "It's been quite awhile. My first thought was, 'I hope I don't pull a hamstring.' "

"It was a very professional game by Pat," Van Gundy said. "All season long, he sat, and sat, and sat, but he kept himself ready for something like this. He played well and he hard for us. We needed him tonight."

"Pat was unbelievable for us tonight," Van Gundy said. "There isn't a truer professional out there, a guy who keeps himself in shape and ready, just in case his time comes."

Pat's been hated by a lot of guys (including myself at times), but DAMNIT, he played near perfect last night (including getting the LeBron block).
I seriously hope that if Cookie starts struggling, that Stan won't hesitate to put Pat Bastard in.

Pat did play very well last night and it was needed badly with severe foul trouble. He played well on both ends. His hustle was important.

If someone before the game told you that Pat played the entire second quarter, that he blocked Lebrons shot and the Magic won would you believe it?

idk if i can honestly change me opinion of him after a game, but it'd be great if he play like that when we need him

Pat really does bleed for this team.

I have to hand it to SVG, the few times he's needed Pat he's delivered [early this season when short on forwards etc..].

He was awesome last night, and the crowd loved him. I think most of us were surprised to be cheering wildly for Pat.

Pat would be more useful in the playoffs instead of Cook imo.

I don't think so.

Cook has been to the NBA Finals.

A team without Pat Garrity is a team that goes 21-61.

If you just read box scores Cook and Pat had almost identical numbers last night but what Pat did that Cook needs to do is play solid defense, keep the ball moving and be ready to keep the ball alive on an offensive rebound by tapping it to a teammate.

I'm with you mamma I was cheering for Pat after he made that 3, he gave us some quality minutes and I think he showed JJ and Marcin that you have to have patience and be ready every night because your number may get called in a close game.

You knew with the way he was hustling his ass off that Pat Bastard would knock in a shot or two...it was nice to see him contribute in meaningful minutes...let's just not make it a regular thing.

A competent coach does wonders for diminishing my appetite for Mexican food.

I dont know why you guys hate Pat.. Everytime he makes me mad I just think about that Bucks game when he hit 7 three's and we ended that horrible losing streak we had against them.. Tmac also had 48 that game.. Good times

I think you're talking about game 3 of the first round series with the Bucks that went to OT. T-Mac had 42 and was two boards shy of a triple double. Garity let it rain that night. I was at that game and it was the best I've ever had the privilege of seeing.

Nah.. Nah.. But I remember that game too.. First Magic game I watched and I've been a fan ever since, lol Mcgrady was abusing Glenn Robinson..

The game I was talking about was in the 01-02 season, the year after we played them in the playoffs.. We had like a 10 game regular season losing streak against them and we beat there ass thanks to Garrity and Mcgrady.. But yeah Pat had his glory days pre-injuries, and I'll never forget it..
