Game Cigar Format

Post#1 » by nightstarstolen » Tue Mar 18, 2008 4:31 pm

I know i haven't been around Celtics board that long, but i have a few suggestions, and if people support the ideas, maybe we can accomplish a modification to the Game Cigar Format.

1. Why not provide a gold (1st place) cigar and silver(2nd place) cigar. Some of our role players will not always put up all-star #'s, but do deserve props.

Example: Last night Cassel earns the gold, and Rondo, silver (He deserves it for the amazing steals, defense, and rebound/ free throws at end of game, etc)

2. If you don't like that idea, how about a team cigar option, because on some nights, it was not an individual effort, but the team play that won the game.

Current format has brought good luck. Don't mess with success.

Yeah, the current format is great. Why would we change that? Why does it even matter?

Why mess up team chemistry with changes down the stretch? People were worried about the addition of Cassell but now they want to mess with the Victory Cigar idea??? The nerve...

I actually like the team effort cigar idea. Gold/silver is too hard to do.

YEY then everyone wins just like in LITTLE KIDS T-BALL...

Its an arbitary award to begin with, what does it matter if only one person can have it? Its not going to hurt Rondo's feelings.

Keep it the way it is, I never liked ties. 1 cigar per player per win.

Exactly, we are 40 games over .500 and just finished the season sweep over the world champions. While some people will want to credit the acquisitions of KG or Ray Allen we all know the reason for this historic season is the Victory Cigar. Don't jerk with success people.

We can change it next season. Lets stick with the current form for now. It's weird to change something like that midseason - it makes it totally meaningless.
