Victory Cigar 3/18/08 - Streak Snappers

Post#1 » by Truthiracy » Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:37 am

Big win @ Houston, snapping their 22 game winning streak. Game started off with a potential Rondo vs. Alston fight, and ends up with a 20 pt win.

Just like I did yesterday, I voted for the player who first started firing on all cylinders. Last night was Cassell, tonight Leon Powe. Un-freaking-stoppable (21 points off the bench on just 12 shots).

Yeah Powe was really good tonight, I love the depth of this team. One night it'll be Powe with a huge game, then Cassell, then Big Baby, then Posey... I love this team!

I voted for PP. HE controlled the game with his penetration.

C's had nothing in the first quarter except Powe. In my opinion, it's a no-brainer: without his performance, the C's would have lost.

Went with Pierce, Powe was great but it was Pierce who got him those touches

Powe still converted though. Pierce was great too, but in the spirit of the cigar, I still say it was Powe. He was the difference.

bahh... not to mess with the vibe but you guys really need to stop with the "-_____ isn't going to get many cigars so i'll give him this one" stuff.... Pierce hands down. Great game by Powe, he was a Grown Man inside just like his nickname.

I dunno, those Powe buckets were so timely. Really kept us aggressive. He also nailed a 15 foot jumper, something he can do, but isn't asked to do very often.

Not about that for me. Just thought he was more important to the win, and from what I remember about how this cigar thing started, that was supposed to be the criteria - who played a crucial role, at a crucial time in getting the win.

Can I vote for Tom Thibodeau? His defensive gameplan, mainly on McGrady, was absolutely genius tonight.

tmac still had a good game, flirted with the trip dub, but it wasnt enough, too bad we cant just say (as clutch as powe and pp both were) "celtics defense"

In this game we needed a good game from KG Pierce and ONE other player to get a win. That player was Leon so he gets my vote.

To me it was pierce, if Powe hadn't stepped up Baby or PJ brown could have filled in the role that he played, Pierce on the other hand was absolutly irreplacable with his penetration shooting, passing and overall decision making, its a close one alot fo good performances, but for me it was Pierce
