Superstitious Routines

Post#1 » by tha_rock220 » Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:54 am

Did anyone here have any routines they followed during the streak due to superstition?? I didn't want to ask before this because I was scared it would cause them to lose, but now I think its safe.

My main one was I never read the paper on the day of games, but I would read them the day after games, I also never participated in any polls or quizzes about the streak, and I always took the sheets off my bed before watching the game. I started to take that damn quiz jove posted so I wonder if I hurt the team.

Didn't watch a few games but that was because I had to raid and didn't wanna be distracted by the ups and downs of a game. Nothing other than that.

ROFL. That is the nerdiest comment I've read in a long time. I love it. My best friend is hooked on WoW too.

I don't believe in superstitions though. Well, except for that damn dancing bunny I have as my sig. For some reason I think of him as a good luck charm, even though he let me down today. I'll probably have him killed now but I'll sleep on it before I make any stupid decisions.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

NO!!!!! It's been a good luck to this franchise. I think the bunny deserves a promotion. I say trade Clutch the Bear and hire the dancing bunny as our mascot.

It was number 23. Has anyone watched that movie The Number 23? It's tells you how cursed it is.

I'm extremely superstitious....The things I haven't done since the 27th.

-Shave (Baron type beard now)
-Play NBA Live every day after school
-Wore certain clothes

Pretty much everything I do, I think about the Rockets. I actually ate food every time we fell down in a game (seemed to work).

I actually kind of feel rotten because I wore these new boxers today.

i started wearing a wooden bead bracelet so i could knock on wood every time people were saying good stuff about the rockets...

i couldnt watch the first half of any of the games; always had to turn it on later...yesterday the pregame show was on the radio in the car on the way to dinner & then i heard part of the first quarter after dinner...i feel bad now

i'd always open up NBA.com before Rockets.com

plug in my laptop so that the rockets would have power...lol

try to think about them as little as possible...once i completely forgot they had a game and then checked the scores and we had owned the other team...but as the streak went on it became harder and harder to not think about the rockets...it was like accumulating good karma or something...like it was my civic duty to deprive myself of the rockets so that they'd succeed...lol

Man. All of y'all with routines and superstitions are nuts. The Rockets win if they move the ball around, play defense, and shoot well.

No amount of sheet washing, homework doing, or shaving will influence how the team performs that night.

Think about it. The Rockets won championships in the nineties, and chances are that you didn't do the loony things then that some of you were doing until recently.

So by all means, stop washing your sheets, eating, avoiding the newspaper, and doing your homework. Especially that last one. If your teachers get mad, just tell them I said it was ok. They'll understand.

Superstition or not. It's not because of you guys. It's because. I went to that Celtics game...and we lost. I hadn't gone to any game during our streak, and we won all those. But I HAD to go ....and make us lose.

It's my fault guys. It's on me. It won't happen again. No tix for me.

I had to think of the last NBA games I watched in relation to this game to make sure it was okay to watch.

The last game I saw live with HOU was against DAL and the last BOS gm was when PHX slaughtered them. So It seemed okay to watch especially after the 3rd quarter of the last LAL gm.
