If they don't then their organization will forever be considered a joke.

Your exaggerating there, just because a lot of low-life haters on realgm hate him doesn't mean everyone in Toronto hates him. He still owns a popular club here, and comes back to Caribana every summer plus and the hate and booing has dimmed down a lot. Everyone will forget and move on and VC will have his jersey retired in the future.

lets face it -- by the time the hall comes around, most of the negative energy around vince (in toronto) will be forgotten. Or at least there won't be a lot of emotion behind it.

its an interesting question, because i think he is genuinely hated by the franchise itself (or those who were around when he was here) yet absolutely was teh face of the raptors and arguably the most popular player in the league for a few years. His #'s will likely support it as well

So, i think you WILL see him in the hall (unfortunately) and likely in a raptors uni (though it would be weird).

Hate him or not, he is still the best Raptors by far in this young organization...

However, I still don't see his jersey back to Toronto ever...

Brilliant idea. Lets cheer for the guy who quit on us when he comes back with his new team [esp. in the playoffs]. We may boo him but I'd be surprised if the majority of fans [not the fans on Real GM, the fans in general] would try to some how deny Carter to the Hall if his number was called upon [if he will be called is another story. I doubt he will]

Regardless of my personal feelings for Carter, I'd have no problem seeing his name in the Hall with a Raptor jersey. He helped a floundering organization stay a float and emerge as a force in his earlier years and led us to the farthest that Raptor organization has ever been [both in the regular season, play-offs, and being a brand].

But Kidd would be in the Hall way before people Carter, and a better argument would be if Kidd should be in the hall with a Net jersey or Dallas jersey [more so if he manages to accomplish something with Dallas now]

i never said cheer. but 20,000 people booing at the same time. thats hate. and id say those haters comprise the majority since clearly there is no evidence to the contrary

Well there is not evidence that the majority of Raptor fans would be against Carter going to the hall [with whatever jersey]

Mind you, its a big difference to boo a returning player [we still boo T-Mac, we boo a lot, we're just whiny I guess], and trying to deny entrance to the hall.

Last time I checked, when a player is inducted into the Hall, he goes in based on what he's accomplished his entire career.. You don't go in as a particular member of any team.. So all this talk about Carter going in as a Raptor or Net is really moot, considering if he does get in, he goes in as a great player in general, and not based on what he's accomplished as a Raptor as opposed to a Net..

Return to Brooklyn Nets
