Although, Haywood was pretty awesome, too (dub dub and shut down D).
Antawn had himself a great night (as he's done consistently this season), but you can't overlook Haywood shutting down possibly the best center in the NBA, holding him to a season low in points, making him pick up 5 fouls, making him turn it over more than usual, WHILE getting a double double himself.

First off, great entertaining game and a great W.
Second, who gives a flying phuck who the POTG is. MVP's are completely pointless in team sports. The object is for the team to win the game -- not for one player on either time to distinguish himself above all others.
Can we stop denigrating one Wizards player so as to highlight another and just agree that the TEAM won the game?
Great win. Go Wiz.

Sure...if basketball were played on one end of the court, maybe you'd be right.
I'll vote for the guy who played on both ends of the court, neutralized the opposing team's best player, and got a double double to boot. You know who it is.
Actually, from watching the game I was definitely going to give my POG vote to Wood for the awesome job he did against Howard, but then I noticed that Rashard had 7 points. Since he was primarily Jamison's man, it looks like he got it done at both ends.
Love that EJ had confidence to ride Wood in the second half, but I'll give Jamison his due for a great all around game.

Well, I like the game MVP awards, but I certainly agree that it is stupid to attack one player just to build up another one. Particularly stupid when it is done is direct contradiction to all the available evidence.
I wish certain people would knock it off, but that will require more than they are capable of. Don't hold your breath.

Um, didn't Rashard Lewis score 7 points on 2-13 shooting? Yeah, terrible defense on him.

Why do people dismiss Philly?
Heck, IMO right now Philly or Washington have a decent shot at pulling a George Mason in the NCAAs a couple years back. They won't be taken very seriously at the start of the playoffs but they will by the end.
Philly's SO for real it's crazy.
Do they have a leader? Yes. Several. Andre Miller's a distributing PG and people act like he sucks. Igouadala doesn't say a whole lot that gets media hype, but the dude plays well. Green can score like crazy as can Lou Williams. Nobody mentions Thaddeus Young in any ROY discussion, but to me his body of work this season's right up there with Scola or Durant. He's got CRAZY good % for a rookie and he's as young as Durant. How much better are Horford and Thornton than T. Young? A defensive leader who can block and rebound with the best of them is Dalembert. A real good rebounder is Evans. Mo Cheeks can coach.
Philly is no fluke.

I'm not overlooking Haywood's contribution, at all. He was awesome even if he did only shut down the overrated DH (should I have used green there so Orlando fans don

Oh don't get me wrong - I have absolutely no problem with a vote for Jamison. He and Haywood are/were 1.A and 1.B tonight. It just seemed as if you were saying Jamison deserved it much more, but Haywood would easily win (only one of which being true, in my opinion).
