2 All-Stars, 1 DPOY....and a lottery pick

Post#1 » by Powder Blue » Thu Mar 20, 2008 1:48 am

Guys it sucks to have to say this but we aren't gonna make the playoffs. Coming down the stretch we can't win on the road and most of the games we have left are on the road. It's not like GS is tanking.

How does a team with SO much talent fall short? Karl is the easy target but I doubt he'll be the only one absent from our sideline next year. Melo is the only safe bet. AI can opt out, JR is restricted, Camby, K-mart or Nene could be dumped for salary cap purposes. No way Kroenke signs all those checks next year. :noway:

At least we have a number one draft pick this year. I doubt we draft anyone with it, but at least we can look forward to NBA draft night again. We can't make up the losses with the way we play on the road, and we are running out of games to make up wins.

Recently we've traded the good players we draft....Jameer Nelson, Jarett Jack. Probably do the same this year.

Yeah the Nuggets have Melo and AI. But Melo is still not mature enough to make up for the grossly inconsistent defense from 1-5, play from the bench, Carter, coaching and Camby taking games off. This team, or should I say lack of, has issues way more than 2 all-stars can make up for.

If it was up to me, Melo would be on top of my to-trade list

Teams that want to win cannot afford to have a player that is not committed to winning.

GK, no question, he will be fired.

Who else would come up with an idea as brilliant as trading your best young player and beuilding around old guys ?

Now for a serious proposal--what could we get for Camby and AI? Move up in the draft? Calderon and move up in the draft?

And now it begins. Better start a thread or two now for offseason trades, and the draft.

Any leader who is not playing with intensity and does not demand anything out of his teammates and himself will not be able to lead any team anywhere.

Melo is far too lazy to think about leading the Nuggets or his team anywhere.

But when he puts on the USA jersey, his attitude completely changed. I dunno why... he became 100x player he is

It's all falling into place... AI opts out, we trade Camby, Nene gets healthy and we draft a shooter. Plus... ::drumroll:: GK gets the boot! Finally, we can build a TEAM!

Good thing it's not up to you! How many nuggets games you seen in the last 5 years? Trading away a 23 year old star that brought your team out of the gutter is never the answer.

Oh snap, a legendarywalton sighting. I miss debating with you bro. I can understand why you elect to stay away though.

Plenty of games, and plenty of laughing too... The laughing is so infectious that I forgot what's the team playing for. What do I watch Nugget games for.

If you have a leader who smiles and relaxes a lot as if he just smoked joints and another leader who's intense like KG, who will you most likely have a chance to mess around with? Would you mess with KG? Or take it easy on Melo?

I miss posting, but the board has already got so much negativity... I think my views on AI and Camby are pretty well known-- any time you bring those two up on the board these days it turns into a massive flame war. Plus, none of the debate is intelligent, articulate, or even comprehensible. Still love my Nugs though, even though they kick me in the pants every day.

Be prepared for swarms of posting if we decide to keep our pick though...

He's right, no way we get a shooter. You act like not having a shooter has been our weakness every year

You are right, the board really changed when we got AI. Used to have some solid conversations on here but now it's turned into a dump. Got a bunch of drama queens on here that post for shock value and trolls that just wanna take a stab at Melo and AI. Maybe it's time I back-off too.

We will probably trade the damn pick away on draft night, but I hope we use it to draft someone and start to develop a decent bench with some depth.

There are trolls but I wanna make clear I'm not.

I just want Nuggets to succeed whatever it takes... and Melo is not the answer.

Well you aren't an educated NBA fan either, you can't compare Melo after 4 years to KG after 12 years. You are free to hate on Melo all you want but he's far from the nuggets biggest problem....and he won't be traded.
