I hate to say it but this is gonna be a loss... no Gasol, no Bynum.... serious match up problems vlad on ak47? odom on boozer? okur vs ronny? and a tag team of fisher/farmar on deron....

If they do I think kobe would have to put down a triple double

Aww, the Jazz have their own Christmas ornament in the first post.

As for the game. Well. I don't think you'll find one Jazz fan who expects 100% to win and it'll be easy. I think if there's one team that the Jazz don't want to face in the playoffs, it's the Lakers. The Jazz have a chance to set a Jazz franchise record 20th straight home win, but even more importantly, they have a chance to make a full game up towards 1st place in the West.

Should be an extremely intense game. Okur is questionable with the stomach flu, and Boozer has a injured back but should play.

I'm excited.

And by the way, Jazz fans will boo Fisher. They just will. So deal with it. Has nothing to do with the situation. Karl Malone would have been booed had he ever played in Utah with a Lakers uniform on. He was injured though. any current member of the Jazz team we have now would get booed if they went to the Lakers. Jazz fans just hate the Lakers. Nothing against Fisher at all.

My prediction? Jazz pull out a very close win with Deron taking control in the 4th.

Kobe > Ronnie Brewer

Lets hope they put him on kobe and not kirilenko. Vlad has to have another huge game, so does Odom. We have to come out like the last game if we want any chance to win. Play DJ some more. Man, deron williams is gonna kill us. I say let him score, shut everyone else down. Then maybe we have a chance.

i think we'll see a lot of odom on okur and ronny on boozer. at least til ronny gets in foul trouble. vlad should have an easier time guarding ak47 than he's had lately with the much quicker howard and tmac.

I didn't think we'd win against Dallas IN Dallas.

Don't give them too much credit, they've lost to bad teams, I know it was on the road but the fact remains true.

Now for a quote:

LOL. Right. Classless. It has nothing to do with who Fisher is, its the uniform he's wearing. He left the Jazz and became a Laker. Had he been coming into Energy Solutions Arena with any other jersey on (except Nuggets, Spurs), he would be cheered. It's the Laker uniform.

If you want to get real technical on things though, we could. But....Fisher's reason for leaving is acceptable and I dont think you'll find a Jazz fan that would disagree with that or the type of person or father he is.

It's about the jersey and the team. Not the person. No different then Clemens getting booed when he returned to Boston. It's the uniform, the atmosphere, the spirit of the game, and whats at stake. I guarantee you before and after the game those very fans will be asking for Fisher's autograph and would gladly go up to him to shake his hand and ask him how his daughter is doing. It's the spirit of the game though. We in Utah have one pro team. It's the Jazz. They are our team. Anyone else who sets foot on that floor to play that isnt in a Jazz uniform is the enemy

I don't agree with the booing, but I really don't see a problem with it at the same time. The Jazz booed Raja Bell, Giricek, and Fisher. Because of the fact they were now on teh opposing team and they think it could have an effect on them and help them win the Jazz the game by getting in their head.

Bottom line? Fisher is a Laker. Jazz fans hate the Lakers.

And besides, I was at the last LA game. I big deal was made about the boos, but nothing of the cheers. It was mixed. The majority cheered, but hte boo's stand out.

Jazz win tonight.

:noway: where have you been? or should I say why are you speaking on behalf of most Jass fans? last time the Lakers played in Utah there was a huge barage of threads from Jass fans contradicting what you are saying. they even admitted that it was classless and din't care. they were so butt hurt that Fisher left that they question his motives for leaving. but anyway, I think you are sincere about your feelings towards the situation and are trying to be civil and that is nice and PC and all, but don't underestimate the classlessness of a lot of your fellow Jass fans.

I like our chances if Okur is out. Not sure how long it takes to recover from the stomach flu, but I just got over the flu myself and it took 6 days. I'd expect that he's not going to be anywhere near 100% even if he does play.

Anyway, all we really need to do is play solid defense and hope Kobe has one of those great shooting games and we should be OK.

Oh, and I'd stay away from the Jazz's game thread. I think it's well known just how classless Jazz fans (in general, around RealGM) are, and their thread is a suspension waiting to happen.

Wow, there's a lot of generalizing going on here. Just because a handful of fans boo means all Jazz fans = classless?

I love Fisher. I'm going to the game tonight and I'll definitely cheer when his name is called. Can't say the same for Kobe, but that's just basketball. It's nothing personal at all.

I'm definitely looking forward to tonights game, though I'm a bit bummed that Gasol's out. Hopefully we can keep Kobe from dropping 50 on us, because thats probably what it will take for a depleted Lakers team to beat the Jazz in SLC.

^^^ Hopefully that isn't the case. We beat Dallas by playing excellent defense for 2 1/2 quarters, which allowed us to build a huge enough lead to withstand their comeback. I'd personally rather see Kobe drop 30-35, while racking up 8 or 9 assists. By doing so, others will be forced to get involved.

Defense is the key though. In order for us to have a shot tonight, we'll need to hold your team under 100 points and hope that our shooters are hitting their open shots. The only way we can do that is if we can contain Deron and limit his effectiveness in breaking down the defense.
