Our offense doesn't really require much playmaking from any one player. I don't really think it matters if he's shoot-first especially since he's such a good scorer. He would be perfect for us as point guard. He's a really good defender, he can score, and he would give us more size too. I think it's time for us to get rid of Arroyo and let Jameer come off the bench. His opponent PER is like 20.

Pietrus is overrated on here. If he played for us we would be dogging him. He only looks good because we see him twice a year.

i don t over rate pietrus (for sure),i ve seen him play a LOT and have been dissapointed.
i really though he could help our french nation team but i think SVG could really help him pass to ah higher level.

as for javaris the memphis fan seems to believe that lowry is the PG who s gonna be moved.

i really hope we can get javaris for cheap.

i think(hope) our 2008 pick +JJ would be enough to land him,we ehn would have to worry about our PG position for yrs.

for me these are the guys on my radar...

- Jason Thompson looks like a stud and could be a real diamond
- Ibaka looks like a monster but it could be skewed by competition
- Roby is one of my favorite players in college right now
- Javal McGee looks good
- Anthony Randolph looks solid, but I am wary of LSU guys
- Batum is a real pro already and will probably make a huge impact
- Hudson looks quality right now
- Collison looking strong but I worry about his health/conditioning

I don't get all this Pietrus love . That guy is not worth the MLE

As for Javaris , I would love to have him . Collison is projected to go in our range in the draft . I would be interested in him too . Only thing with him is he could be injury prone like the THIEF mentioned

cedric76 wrote:why would u want to change our starting line up?

i like our SG: evans+bogans r a decent combo

critterion would ahve time to develop behind nelson+dooling

our PF position will be fine with lewis+battie+cook sharing the minutes

PG:Nelson,dooling,Crittenton
SG:Evans,pietrus,bogans
SF:hedo,(Lewis) (bogans)(fran)
PF:Lewis,cook (battie),fran
C:Howard,battie,foyle,gortat

Another dream, but not facing reality meaning DeVos family are not going to go for spending too much money. The Children of the Senior DeVos are just as tight with the purse strings as their parents.
Otis Smith has a plan and he seems to want JJ in that picture. And a certain Spaniard has had an awful season this year plus he has to buyout this contract the Magic cannot. Unless you have over 25 million floating around that you would want to give Fran otherwise that wish is just a dream.
Bogans are you so sure is not going to opt out of his contract????
Evans is the player that Magic look to keep if possible.
Dooling has been giving out hints that he would be interested in playing with the Heat for a reunion.
Last, but not least Lewis is not a PF. The Magic need a real PF not a SF playing PF hopefully in the draft they can get what they are looking for and it fits the tight purse strings of the owners.

The Devos family has always shown a willingness to spend money. We are always in the top 10-12 teams in payroll. Them being frugal is a myth.

Actually that is the biggest BS I have ever heard about the DeVos family.
When it comes to money there are very tight.
And if you might have noticed that the Magic have not gone over the Lux tax cap. The DeVos do not want to spend extra money so they are going to say under the Lux tax anyone who has posted here should know that and most of do know that I guess you missed that about them.
The DeVos family will not break the bank for the entire team just for a few players the supportering players will have to make do with what they can get out of Smith and that is not a heck of a lot of money after you key in Howard, Lewis and Nelson after that it gets a whole lot tighter and will be for several years.

I'm not saying that they are going to go into the luxury tax zone next season. But the Magic did pay the luxury tax the season before last. Their payroll that season was in the top 6 and was about $72 million. So, it's not true that they never will go over the luxury tax. It doesn't really make sense for them to do so unless they are getting a piece that is likely to get them at least to the East Finals, though -- like the year they added Horace to go along with Shaq and Penny.

You forgot one thing that was when the Magic were owned by Senior DeVos he transferred ownership over to his children and do you see them having the same kind of money that he has notta.
They seem very happy with the way that Otis Smith has been pinching pennies and I don't any of them wanting him to change the way he has been setting up this team when it comes to players.
A few will get the cash and the rest will get the crumbs. Million dollar crumbs, but crumbs none the last compared to a couple of players on this team.

DeVos didn't transfer ownership until this season. I don't know how you can say what they will do. I'm sure that they always have run the Magic like a business.

Meaning they keep their money close to home or closer.
So far they seem to be letting Smith run the show and they give advice now and then. The team was transfered before then end of 2007 for tax reasons.
I guess money has been set aside in trusts otherwise the Senior DeVos and children would get hit with a rather large hit from the tax man.
