Yes, sadly it's true. I've maintained that D Wilkins is a decent 8th guy in the rotation. But now I'm seeing a selfish player. There's no room for that kind of cancer on a young developing team.

So your picks are are bigs... interesting. I was thinking the second 1st should go for SG to enable the "K Durant to SF, J Green to PF & C Wilcox traded for high value" scenario. Actually I'm on the fence about the C Wilcox trade idea. But I could see it happening.

I was thinking more of using the first 2nd round pick, #32 overall, for drafting a big nasty. My first thought, along with those on your list, would be Joey Dorsey. He's a beast. And he'll probably be available then. Nathan Jawai & Derrick Caracter are the other two bigs I'm thinking about with that pick. They are both higher risk, maybe higher reward, players.

Id really like to get Shan Foster from Vandy to be our backup to SG. Theres also Richard Roby from Colorado that could be a good backup SG. I think we'll end up bringing Gelbable back too.

I like the idea of trading Wilcox only if its a good deal. Dorsey could be a good pick up. I havent seen or read alot about Jawai, Pekovic will probably be a 2nd rounder, he seems like a big nasty.

Makes for interesting possibilities...

Starters - D Rose, K Durant, J Green, C Wilcox, J Petro
Rotation - L Ridnour, N Collison, T Smith, J Dorsey
Bench - M Sene, R Swift, D Wilkins, E Watson

Can C Wilcox be traded for a SG or C that upgrades this lineup, maybe in a package with that Phoenix #1, or better yet with Watsnour?

I wonder what it'd take to get CJ Miles from Utah? Would he be a better addition than T Smith or any of the other big guards available in the draft? Would Utah take our #32 pick for him? If so, could we draft a big with that Phoenix pick instead?

So that's a decent question... just assuming the Sonics (a) keep the Phoenix pick & (b) use it for a SG/combo guard, who, in order, are the top realistic picks for the Sonics?

IMO the required skills are defensive capability, size, outside shooting & athleticism. I'll toss out some likely names...

- Brandon Rush
- Bill Walker
- Kyle Weaver
- Tyler Smith
- Courtney Lee
- Russell Westbrook
- JR Giddens
- Shan Foster
- Chris Douglas-Roberts

Also, what would you think of CJ Miles instead of these guys? Maybe the Sonics could get him from Utah with their #32 pick. If they managed that, could the Sonics focus on a big with the Phoenix pick?

Holy crap, Courtney Lee was impressive this weekend.

Looking forward it's too bad I'm going to miss this Thursday's game between UCLA & Western Kentucky. I'd like to see Courtney Lee match up against Russell Westbrook.
