besides not being able to cover ray allen and kevin garnett

who is going to cover rondo

west/snow/damon jones/gibson?!?!

penetrate and dish or penetrate and float as rondo has shown that to be a very effective shot in his arsenal of late

i just don't see Cleveland winning in a 7 game series

Yup.

And as tough a cover as Lebron will be for Paul, LBJ won't be taking any nights off covering Pierce.

The only way I see Cleveland beating us is if they just go crazy on the glass. The way Perk's been playing and w/ PJ in the fold along w/ the young bruisers I don't see that happening.

I don't think Cleveland will be an easy out by any means and with a guy like Lebron you never know what will happen, but since their trade I'm less worried about them. Before I was heavily rooting for Orlando in the 2nd round, but know I'm pretty much indifferent.

Drew Gooden seemed to give us a lot of trouble in the games against Cleveland this season. It can be argued that in the 2 games that he and KG matched up, he actually outplayed KG. It might have just been an anomaly, but I feel much better with Ben Wallace out there where Perk would pick up Ilgauskas and KG can just roam around not having to concentrate on Wallace.

Also, even though Hughes sucks, he helped out Cleveland because Lebron didn't have to defend either Ray Allen or Pierce and instead hid on Rondo (although Rondo burned him a number of times since Lebron played like 10 feet off). With Lebron probably having to defend Pierce all game long, he probably won't have as much left in the 4th quarter leading those comebacks.

And Wally is a good shooter, but if he tries to defend Ray Allen, Paul Pierce or even Tony Allen, he will get burned.

Mr Jame's is blowing smoke out of his a$$, they have 2 of our players we through away and he still thinks he could beat the Celtics. The Celtics will play the same d they did to t-mack. The rockets are even a better team then the cavs.

Lebron is an amazing player and is the best individual player in the league. However, unlike McGrady in Houston who is actually allowing his supporting cast to do a lot, Lebron really hogs the ball to the detriment of the team. Of course, because he is the most physically dominant player in the league he can get away with it most of the time.

However, I don't see the Celtics losing a game to the Cavaliers should they meet in the second round. Cleveland does scare a lot of teams because their defense is good and like the Celtics during their ECF run they have a superstar who can score 35 while the team can keep most teams under 90 pts. Unfortunately for them, they cannot keep Boston to under 90 pts.

This is a no contest matchup. Especially with Sam Cassell who not only will bring playoff experience and veteran stability to our team, but also gives us a fourth guy who can create his own shot, score from anywhere and score 20 points on any given night.

Just because Cleveland won a home game against Detroit coming of a back to back track meet doesn't make them the team to beat despite the hype from ESPN.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Cleveland can beat Detriot but I don't know if they can beat teams like Washington, Toronto or even Philadelphia in the first round.

Cleveland is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Why would they try and piss off the Best team in the NBA when the only reason Cavaliers are in the playoffs is because they play in the East. Cleveland isn't a great team. They just play really well against Detroit.
My Starting 5:

PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Paul Pierce
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett

Toronto and Orlando are the underdogs in all this talk. I think Toronto can take Cleveland and Orlando can take Washington.

billfromBoston wrote:...Boston lost twice to Cleveland, both in Cleveland, both came down to single posession game within 2 minutes...one was a win until Ray Allen missed 2 FT's-not somthing that'll ever happen again...2nd was without KG...the two Boston games were blowouts, though LeBron missed one of them...

Interestingly, Ray Allen missed two free throws in a row at home in the Lakers game prior to the first Cleveland game on the road a few days earlier. The difference is the Celtics controlled the Lakers game, so it didn't affect the game's final outcome. It did in the Cleveland game because it would've likely prevented overtime. But, that's presuming James doesn't make that last shot attempt which he didn't.

For me, I'm more concern about Detroit than a meeting of Cleveland in the playoffs.

Versus Boston this season.

Detroit - 1-2 (BOS won series)
Orlando - 2-1 (BOS lost series)
Cleveland - 2-2
Toronto - 1-3 (BOS won series)
Washington - 2-1 (WAS leads series; last game @WAS)

It's fans like this that make me hope Toronto somehow meets us in round 2, Detroit owns Boston by losing 2 of 3 to us? Now I really hope you do pull off a miracle and beat Cleveland.

It's fans like you that embarrass a great overall fanbase and a great team. You make the rest of the board look cocky.
