Wiretap: NY fans create site to lure bron to Knicks

Post#1 » by magicman123 » Thu Mar 20, 2008 10:16 pm

"A group of New York fans has started a Web site aimed at raising money to attract LeBron James to New York when his contract ends in 2010. The site says the donations will be used to give him a ''New York gift basket'' with the goals of giving James ''his own suite at Yankee Stadium, additional salary, Gloria James courtside seats, and a Ferrari.''

"this just in, Isiah Thomas has been fired as Head Coach and General Manager of the New York Knicks, apparently fans of the team were better suited for the job and have resumed responsibility of the club effective immediately. The team has reportedly already moved up one slot on John Hollinger's Daily Power Rankings since the news was broken just 40 seconds ago, back there where I reported it. Stay tuned as more develops on this story."

The Knicks could hire Johnny Davis and move up.

I will swear in court to this, that site might have single handedly saved our next few seasons and maybe the franchise. talk about the power of the people.

All I'm saying is, if they can pull that off, Knicks fans have style.

I'm sure the BVW, RDV and Otis were in a conference room sweating it out because of the site ...

It seems a little soon but I don't see it being such a bad idea making a site trying to get him to come here. We have some guys on the board that can do some crazy things with photoshop or whatever program they use...come up with some nice pictures of them on the court together (U.S.A. & All-Star stuff). Throw some stats on there about how great they would be and have a huge list of fans that want LBJ to come.

It would at least improve our chances from 1% to 2%.

After we get Lebron then we can get Doc Brown to take us back in the Delorean and get the 90's Michael Jordan. Oh wait...maybe I should put the rest of this rum away for now.

Why would I dig into my own pockets for LEbron when he could take the money clip he carries and buy everything on that list.

Where did I say money would be involved? They can try and buy him with money, we could try and buy him with title talk.

If LeBron leaves, he's going to go to a big market team.

I doubt the Magic could compete with him playing at Madison Square Garden, trying to bring the Knicks their first title since the '70s. Not to mention, being down the street from his favorite baseball team, the Yankees.

I guess we have a bigger shot than some, but LeBron's not going to leave a small market for an even smaller market. Sucks, but true. I would be surprised if he didn't head to NY - or maybe the Brooklyn Nets (Jay-Z's team, if it happens) when his current contract ended.

Besides, we have that guy Dwight... something, who LeBron apparently hates to play with since he steals at least half of the spotlight...

Ya this is stupid. In consequence the knicks will be put under a 50 year curse where they will not progress past the first round of the playoffs

Return to Orlando Magic
