Would you vote for Miller?

If the voting for MVP was now would and will Miller get some MVP vote? Stats aside, even thought he is having a career year will he get some votes for MVP? If you you at as who is most important to their team then I think Miller has to get some consideration. But looking at the supporting cast and comparable stats to other MVP possibilities, Labron, Kobe, Chris Paul of course Miller doesn't match up, but we have seen him control the flow of a game as well as dominate a game. So do you think he will get some votes be it at the bottom of the list, MVP votes?

Maybe if the ballot went to ten players rather than five, Miller would deserve some consideration. But I don't think he can compare with those guys. And probably not Kobe or Duncan, either.

How does Kobe get MVP consideration when he's surrounded by Odom, Bynum, and Gasol and coached by Phil Jackson? You can't compare his supporting cast to what Miller has around him. Ditto for KG, who has Pierce and Ray Allen. If it were based on which player makes his team better, Miller should be the hands down favorite over these two. If it were based on most talented player in the league, that's an entirely different story.

I'm not so sure about that. The last few MVP's have had great supporting casts.

Dirk had Terry, Harris, Stackhouse, etc.
Steve Nash had Stoudemire, Marion, Diaw, etc.
KG had Cassell, Sprewell, Sczerbiak, etc.
Even Duncan with Robinson, Parker, Ginobili

It really doesn't matter how much talent you have if you're that great of a player.

You have to have a great supporting cast. If you don't. You won't get the MVP. It's the Most Valuable Player with the Best Teammates Award. I would not complain at all about who wins it if the players, coaches, GM were voting. But letting these biassed reporters vote stinks up the whole thing imo.

by that definition, Magic should have never won an MVP. Bird neither. And Moses shouldn't that year he was surrounded by Doc, Toney and Cheeks. Duncan shouldn't have when surrounded by Parker and Ginobili.

First of all, I am not a big Kobe fan, but to answer your question, he was surrounded by the same cast last season minus Gasol, who happens to be hurt. He has 3 rings, great stats, and has made a point to get his team involved in the game, which is something he hasn't done in years past. When the season started, nobody thought the Lakers were going to go anywhere. I think he has earned the right to be in the running.

If the NBA wants to be serious they have to give the MVP title to Chris Paul since he has vastly improved his stats and the winning percentage of his team. That argument was also made to Nash and he won it.

MVP goes to player most responsible for the team winning. It doesn't go to the best player automatically, it also is determined by how they play. Last year's playoffs for example. Nobody questions that Duncan is the best player on the Spurs, however, the best performance and production was arguably coming from Parker, so that's a case for which Parker should have been considered MVP for that specific post season, rather than the best player, Duncan.

Typically, however, the best player will give the best performance, and therefore will win MVP. Shaq, Duncan, Magic, etc..

Miller should get votes for player of the month or something, not MVP for a whole season.

Kobe shouldn't be MVP. He was itching to get out of LA before the season started. That's not an MVP in my book.

Paul should get the nod. At the very least, Lebron.
