Ira Newble has decided to sign a contract with the lakers
Swingman Swingman Ira Newble has decided to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, choosing them over the Cavs.
A source said the Cavs offered Newble a spot on the team Wednesday, but the two sides could not agree on certain terms of his return.
The Cavs traded Newble to the Seattle SuperSonics last month, but never gave away his locker. Newble was eligible to rejoin the Cavs on Tuesday.
The Cavs still have one open roster spot that they may fill by early next week, choosing them over the Cavs.

Good addition. I like Newble's defense, but at the same time I'd like to have seen us take a shot at Gerald Green since we have Kobe here to mentor him. Having said that grabbing Newble is a good move since the Cavaliers went to the finals last season and could be a team we face in the finals if both teams have perfect storms in the postseason.

I couldn't agree with you more about Gerald Green, I'm hearing that his basketball IQ is not high at all. However, with Kobe by his side, i'm sure he could learn a great deal and would definitely be worth Coby Karl's spot.

I'm not buying the "playing with Kobe" thing anymore - see Kwame Brown, see Smush Parker, see etc, etc. There's a reason that Green can't find a home.
