Kidd might not be able to guard quick PG's any more, but the last time we played him (when he was with the Nets) he almost had a tripple double after one qtr with Felts guarding him.

He triple-doubles everybody (and did all 3 games against us). I'm sure he'll get his rebounds. Admittedly, however, now that I have looked at the matchup, Felton has pretty much failed miserably against the Nets.

Still, Kidd went 4-10 the first game, 4-12 the second game, then 7-14 the third game, including going 4-5 from 3. So I guess if he goes bombs-away again, we'll be in trouble, but that's a pretty fluky performance.

How did Boykins do against Kidd?

He's quicker than Felton and plays better against fast paced teams (like against Warriors recently), would he be for any use agains Kidd?

I think the issue with Kidd is that he's just slowed down a lot, so he gets abused by guys like Paul, Deron, Baron Davis, etc. Theoretically Felton should be able to take advantage of that by just relentlessly driving at the rim at top speed. Kidd would have no way to stop him.

When Boykins played the Nets in February he went 6-9 for 13 points in 21 minutes... the most he's scored as a Bobcat.

Well, the 8-seed is now 4 games away from us. We have a nice soft stretch here: @Memphis, @Indiana, and at home against Miami. If we were to win all 3, we'd probably end up within 2.5 again.

Bah, who am I kidding.

Over for sure. It would take a truly magical run of games at this point. Let the tanking begin!

So, did the honeymoon phase officially end during the 4th quarter of the Wizards game?

If that is directed at me personally, I must respond by saying I was skeptical that we were a playoff contender before the year started, much less when this thread was created. I only even made the breakdown of what has to happen to make the playoffs because I thought it was a super long shot when we were at, what 11% odds?

Probably not directed at me though, just sayin.

Anyway, I've been out of town... I can understand losses to Houston, Dallas and Cleveland, but how does this team lose to Memphis and Indiana with Gerald Wallace if they beat GSW, Atl, Toronto without him?

I read Fat's analysis saying it takes this team a while to gel, but really... Memphis and Indiana?

I'm not sure what honeymoon is being referred to. If it meant the one without McInnis, that would only be the Indiana game. If we'd smoked them and Memphis, I'd still be riding high and thinking we could make the playoffs.

The honeymoon where disappointing players played above the level they had most of this season because they were given another chance to prove themselves.

It looks like it ended in the 4th quarter of the Washington game.

This seed's about getting the 8th seed in the playoffs, not Felton. If that's supposed to be a honeymoon, I guess I'm still on it.

I wasn't as confident that we'd make the playoffs, but we did just what I suspected which is at least have a fair shot at an 8 seed going down the stretch.

The players and the coaching staff has GOT to figure out a way to win on the road. The nightly 3rd quarter drought is depressing to watch.
