It's just growing pains. Kobe did the same exact stuff you listed but he grew out of it. Stay calm Grizz fans Critt is the real deal in the making.

One more con I have to mention...

He can't shoot worth jack. In the past 3 weeks, I'd say he's seen about 20 open midrange/3pt shots with no one near and completely bricked. I like his form, but the shot is SOOOO FLAT, it seems.

Yeah i noticed this too. It seems after he has a good game they don't play him much, if at all, the next game. Yeah, way to develop a young player! :banghead:

Same thing with Jordan Farmar last season and now look at how effective a shooter he is. Also like Jordan he came out early and has a lot of room to grow.

I still watch his progress every game. It's got to be tough sharing the spot with two other young pg's. He's gonna be good. Two things that you probably have never gotten to see that Phil was very high on him for and we've seen in summer league(I know I know)

1- He's clutch. He likes the pressure and he can nail big shots.

2- He takes D personally. He overplays his man right now, but not every player is intense on D and Critt is.

the offseason will do wonders for him.

Patience is the key, we didn't have it when Bynum was drafted, but look how well he turn out. Give him a few years and you'll have a better idea of how good he can be.

He hardly ever played for the Lakers. You want some real info then go to a college hoops board and you will get real answers. The people here will just answer what the read about for the most part.
I watched him in college but what can I tell you from a handfull of times? College board is best bet.

I watched Javaris on our Summer League team, he easily outplayed Jordan Farmar who is probably our best PG. You guys got a keeper in Critt, if it was my call I would have rather kept Critt and sent out Farmar. If given the minutes he can be a solid starter or even a possible all star.

I thought that to but we were wrong. We don't know how deticated Critt is and how high his bball IQ and there pg's. We know Farmar is a super hard worker and extremely smart.
They made the right move.

Pros
Top notch athlete
Great ballhandling moves, breaks ankles
Scorer

Cons
Seems like he NEVER passes unless it's the last option
Gets stuck in the air ALL THE TIME, causing useless TO's
Takes people 1 v 5 on fast break
Tries the fancy pass too often

Here's what I ask of you Laker fans...give me some hope, PLEASE! Tell me what you like of him, his PROS and CONS, but preferably PROS. I'm beginning to give up on him.

I dont agree with this one(proly because hes playing sg for you guys) actualy I think he can be too unselfish sometimes hes like a mini lamar and I still think hes a pg not a sg

Why be an Ahole? You don't speak for most fans, because most of the fans I talked to still have an interest in the progress of Critt. At least the ones that really know basketball. There's no reason to kick a team when they're down. How bout showing a touch more class...especially on our home board.

Sorry Dr. Phil, but think how boring this board would be if everyone was like you?

second_coming32 wrote:Javaris labeled himself as a pass first PG coming out of college. The problem was that the Triangle doesn't need a PG to dominate the ball and create within the offense. Phil got in his head a little bit because no matter how much he praised the kid he could never crack the non garbage time rotation. That is just how Phil is. The only reason Farmar got minutes his rookie year was because Smush was really THAT bad.

Critt is experimenting right now, he's trying to find himself in the NBA and I'm sure he still finds himself trying to prove that he belongs being the 3rd pg in Memphis. Next season I would expect him to step into more of a playmakers role. He'll be fine. At best he'll be another Tony Parker, but he will never be worse then Smush Parker.

+1

thats whay I realy like this trade for him, he maybe a 6-4/6-5 the ideal height for a tri pg and a good athlete but hes just like lamar he needs the ball in his hands to create his offense, hes not good at playing without the ball, his jumpshot/3pt is still very inconsistent (but hes still young and he has a good shooting mechanic so if he works on it it will improve)
