Not an excuse for his meddling.
One thing doesn't excuse all the others.

He needs to run this franchise like a professional sports team.

Gadzuric and Simmons with big contracts signed by pretty boy should be taking much of the blame. Screw Harris, I hope he sucks as a NBA executive the rest of his life.

This is not true.
Ownership is the most important thing in the success of a franchise.

Good owners hire good people and let them make decisions that lead to a title.

It isn't a coincidence that three of the worse teams in the NBA ; Knicks, Bucks and Clippers have three of the worse owners in the sport.

Ok first and foremost, Im not saying that I agree with everything Herb has done since he first bought the team in the 80's. However, with all the negative press he has gotten lately and how bad the Bucks have been performing lately, I thought the man needed an appreciation thread.

Lately!! It's been close to 20 straight years of mediocrity and crap with ONE great year as an exception. Since he ran Don Nelson out of town the Buck

I am not an expert on NBA owners.

Herb Kohl is no worse than Donald Sterling of the Clippers. Or Dolan of the Knicks.

How has the ownership in Memphis or Minnesota been better than Kohl?

How has the ownership in Boston - until the last eight months - been better than Kohl? Until the trades for Allen and KG, the Celtics were about as bad as it could get.

How has the ownership in New Orleans been good? They destroyed a great franchise in Charlotte and wore out their welcome. They cajoled and lied in New Orleans where various franchise issues remain up in the air. They make Kohl look like a wizard.

How has the ownership in Atlanta been better than Kohl? Attendance is horrible and the team is not much better. The current owners are in place because of squabbles among the previous group. What a mess.

How is the ownership in Charlotte better than Kohl? They refuse to spend money. They are not competitive. They don't seem to be making any progress.

What has Cleveland done that is better than Kohl? They won the Lebron James lottery - hardly an ownership initiative. Without that one piece of luck, they would be as much a mess as the Bucks.

Seattle's owners did so good that they had to sell to a group from Oklahoma. Now the Oklahoma group wants to move the team - are they better than Kohl? How?

Kohl is a loyal, overly involved owner. He is loyal to his city and his team. Many cities feel that THEY have the worst owner. Kohl, like most owners, is mediocre.

Gotta admit, even though I started this thread, this was pretty funny.

From what I have heard...I believe Woelfel has spoken on this as well, only the Bucks and Clippers make decsions via committee. I can't believe 1 person did not have the ballz to ask herbie why he has changed so many coaches and GM's over the years but the 1 failing constant is his ridiculous possee, why haven't they been changed?

Think about this and then get back to us. Here are the number of 50 win seasons (not counting this season) these teams have had in the past 20 years.

Hawks 6

T-Wolves 4

Knicks 7

Boston 4

Cleveland 5

Seattle 7

Hornets 4

The Griz have only been around 12 season but they have one 50 win season and one 49 win season.

Buck's 1

But hey, the Clippers have zero so maybe Kohl has done a great job after all. Look back at the Buck's record under Kohl. Once the team he inherited dissolved we have been one of the worst teams in all of sports. We have been to the second round ONCE in the past 18 (going on 19)seasons. My God, even Atlanta has been to the second round four times in that span. So yes, since Kohl took over teams like Atlanta, Seattle, Cleveland, Boston, NY, NO and Minnesota have had greater success than us. That is why Kohl is worse than mediocre. Go to NBA.com and look back at the past 20 seasons. Maybe then you'll see just how pathetic a team he has owned.

Hopefully Herb gets booed right out of the building the next time he is introduced to the 12 people that still go to Bucks games this year.

Disagree. I'd seriously rather have the Bucks move than have them be run the way that Kohl does it.

Seriously these are great stats Inside Out. Someone should email this to Woelful and Sparky if they have those addresses. I would say to JSonline too but we all know that POS paper won't mention it.

Man we are pathetic. :nonono:
