Worst-Best Player in the NBA

I like this list Twirl. Here are my edits based on who I wouldn't trade Redd straight up for if I could. Some are because of age and some are because I don't think they would fit on our team. Some of the ones I am editing out are to me more valuable than Redd but I am just looking at it based on my perceived value to the Bucks and how they would fit on the Bucks current roster if that makes sense.
Players I would edit out.

These are players on every team I would take over Redd right now. I won't base this on potential.

Miami- Wade, Marion
New Orleans- Paul, West, Chandler
Houston- T-Mac, Yao
San Antonio- Parker, Duncan, Ginobili
Dallas- Kidd, Nowitzki, Howard
Memphis- Gay
Utah- Boozer, Williams, Kirilenko
Denver- Camby, Iverson, Anthony
Portland- Aldridge, Roy
Seattle- None

So that's 67 players by my count that I have over Redd. Many more if I was going off potential (Oden, Durant, Conley, Horford etc.)

So to me thats 57 players I would trade Redd straight up for and still think they would fit into the Bucks current roster and help us win more games than Redd. I would also trade Redd straight up for Oden Durant, and Horford at this point so that brings my total to 60 players I would rather have than Redd. Overall, very nice list Twirly.

When judging worst-best you have to consider the youth of the player as well. As of right now Redd is better than Durant, but no doubt Durant will become a better player and won't be paid like Redd for a long time.

If you use that logic then you have to aswer this question:

If Redd play somewhere else, would you trade Bogut for Redd? I know I wouldn't

We have our own 2 players moe valuable than Redd. Maybe even 3.

I think we may be mixing things up in this thread that are better off separated into different rankings.

I would think that "Worst-Best Player" should not take into account youth or salary, only what kind of player they are right now, this season.

That would be a different list than a "Worst-Best Asset" list

Some people are mixing the two up. Why compare Redd to someone else's best asset anyway? IMO he isn't even the best asset on his own team. I'd rank Bogut and Yi (not sure which order) as better assets than Redd on the Bucks.

"Worst-Best Player" is to me a more interesting discussion (although Worst-Best Asset is also very interesting) right now because part of Redd's value to this team has always been that he supposed to be the Bucks best player in that particular season.

It seems Deng, Gordon and Hinrich have reached a plateau and they're not nearly as good as Bulls fans had hoped. And that team has some serious depth and quality, they have no excuse whatsoever for being so bad except that they don't have a single star or even borderline star like Redd.

RJ and Carter are a little better. Randolph isn't even close.

Stop overrating the Bobcats, every one of their so-called stars is at least as fatally flawed as Redd. Whether it's the swingmen who can't shoot or the former #1 pick who's just a good (but not great) defender and rebounder or Felton, somebody has to explain why they supposedly have so many good players but can't win to save their lives. Ditto for the guys on Atlanta who have a lot to prove. Only JoJo gets the clear nod over Redd. The others are just younger and that gives their fans hope, but they haven't earned it yet.

Seattle doesn't have anyone yet, if you think Redd is a chucker then watch Durant play a few games. Without Brand the Clippers don't have anyone as good as Redd, and if Brand doesn't return to form that might not change for a while. Redd's been doing for years everything Kevin Martin is doing. Gay and Conley will get there, but not yet. And obviously if you factor in youth than you have to count Yi and Bogut as our best players, as people have done.

Redd is probably in the bottom 25% but not by much.

Those are the only players that I would say that right now are better then Redd, and would trade Redd straight up for if it were possible.
