Lets just build our team around...
......Adonal Foyle. Just look at the way he demands the ball in the post, not even Dwight does it like him. The Magic do an excellent job of entering the ball to Foyle. And when he gets it he settles the game down with his post offense. Either a drive of a jump hook. I say run the offense thru him all the time, more than we do now because its so effective.
Seriously though, the guy has been pissing me off lately. He acts like he is a great low post scorer. Everytime they pass him the ball he never passes it back. And then proceeds to make a drive to the basket in which he misses badly or turns the ball over, or he takes a fade away shot which doesnt hit the rim. Last night he took a jumper for goodness gracious and i dont think it hit rim. He is often open (what a suprise right?) and when a teamate finds him for a wide open shot he fumbles the ball away. Stonehands part deux. Why does he act like he is a good offensive player? Its extremely annoying, he is the worst offensive player on the team. As far as im a concerned, everytime he has the ball and doesnt have point blank range shot he needs to pass it to a teamate right away. Adonal Foyle = ball hog.

Adonal took that jumper last night because he thought the shot clock was running down. He can make jumpers and 3s when he sets his feet (watch pregame and halftime warm-ups).
Adonal received some sh*t passes. He caught everything thrown at him on Wednesday and did all he could with some weak passes last night.
I actually believe he should get the ball a sh*tload more because guys don't see him when he's wide open in the paint.
And Adonal is a MUCH better passing center than Dwight, and that's a problem that needs to fixed.

dude are you joking adam? Half the time when he gets the ball he makes a great move to the basket, but ends up losing his balance and throwing up an awkward shot.
When he got here he said he'd surprise people with his offense. If he meant by scoring under 2 ppg and only 45% shooting than yea, that's surprising. And for a big man his FG% should be much higher, considering he takes much higher percentage shots.
Foyle has the know-how. But he seems to have trouble putting it together. And I guess age is catching up with him, cause he's not nearly the shot blocker I thought he'd be.

Foyle isn't very good.
Never was.
And to think, Weisbrod was going to sign him to the contract that eventually went to Hedo. Thank Golden State for matching what would have been one of the worst FA signings ever.
Still, I like him at the end of the bench. Just nowhere else.

Basketball is driven by three principles:
1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Does anyone else think Cook and Howard play real well together besides me? They feed of each other real well. Cook will get a pass, and throw it straight to Howard. If Howard has the matchup he takes it one on one. If hes double teamed he kicks it back out to Cook, who than either shots or passes it right back to Dwight. They look good together IMO.

Definitely. I absolutely love that Cook looks for Dwight immediately when he catches the ball (and doesn't have a wide open shot). However a lot of his passes are actually bad to Dwight. Maybe he can improve on that with time and practice, but he does well.

It happens that there is going to be 2 really good Centers from Turkey entering the draft this year.
Semih Erden and Omer Asik. Couldn't hurt if the Magic could land one of them. And we won't have to be afraid to go thru a Fran situation again, because we have big brother Hedo here who makes the transition easier for those guys. heck Semih Erden is from Gaziosmanpasa, the Bosnak quarter of Istanbul. Hedo is from the same place, so those two are practically related.

I dunno why there hasn't been more players from there going into the draft in past years...

Foyle and Battie are perfect NBA backups. Both guess have an out-of-this-world attitude. Both are responsive t coaching. Both can play combo big. Both can accept a DNPCD after starting the previous night.
These two are class acts, and there simply do not exist at their salary levels anything better.
That GM Smith gets guys like Foyle and resigns Battie is part of a real play to assemble a Championship-caliber team

I think they need one more young big, too, though. Sometimes you just need the energy. That's what really kills the Magic when they play teams like the Hawks with Josh Smith, Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia and Marvin Williams. When the Magic play teams like that and Foyle is subbed for Dwight, I just hope the Magic are hitting their shots because those young guys will outjump Foyle for most of the rebounds. For instance, Horford did most of his damage when Dwight came out of the game the other night.
