got this from yahoo:

Mar 21 Wilcox is considering sitting out the rest of the season after re-injuring his right pinkie finger, the Seattle Times reports.

Don't be a hater.

Wilcox is like Derrek McKey. He can put up numbers, but is never in the forefront of what's going on. At times he's maddening and other times terrific. He's worse than Shawn Kemp, but better than Radmanovic.

He's probably not a Presti player b/c he doesn't behave like Bruce Bowen or Robert Horry. He'll probably get dealt if the proverbial right deal comes along.

I'm starting to think the "right deal" is like the tooth fairy or Santa Claus. They come along from time to time and give great gifts, but you can't control them or contain them.

Another manufactured injury to assist the draft pick process. I'm good with it, but only if it means M Sene gets to play at least 20 minutes a game for the rest of the season.

Why not Haslem is out in Miami? We might as well keep up with the Jones'.

Plus it would be nice to actually see Sene get a good hard look.

Is PJ really going to play Sene though? I hope he does.

The Sonics don't need to tank. They are going to finish with the second worst record with all of their guys healthy. Sitting Wheezy might get him healthy for a draft day trade, however. He certainly wants to be 100% next year when his contract is due for renewal.

ha sene still hardly gets minutes..but now that we're on the topic what does everyone think about wilcox.
i'd have to say i'm not his biggest fan. I like him, and sometimes he's awesome to watch, but i don't like his style.
Him and Johan have to go together to make the most unalert front court duo in the league by far. They do alright (definately not great) on man to man but both are lazy picking up their men down the court and in transition. How many open dunks have there been lately when the other team walks it up. It happened today with petro on turiaf. Petro does pretty well on D apart from that but is also foul prone but atleast he's rapidly improving. (bit OT)

wilcox is lazy with passes, often careless with the ball and lacks desire to rebound and play D. I know i'm being negative but if we need to sign him to a fairly large amount than i don't think its worth it. And he's nice trade bait. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on him for the long term??

I like Wilcox. He runs the floor well and gets alot of dunks by beating his man down the court. He is our only legit postup player. Without him the offense will suffer.

He is going to want a bigger contract. I could see him being traded especially if the Sonics get Beasley. If the Clippers lose Brand send him back to them for a first. Then we could have two high picks. Hell, send Ridnour to the Knicks and let's draft a whole starting lineup. How about Beasley, Lopez and OJ Mayo to pair with KD and Green? Then we could add Kyle Weaver and Lester Hudson with the late picks. I am dreamin'.

My guess is we could get the Utah pick straight up for him from Philly. Of we could get the Wizards pick but we'd have to take back some salary (probably Etan Thomas or Brandon Haywood, I always forget which one they like more.) I'm wondering what teams would dump there pick + salary for Wilcox. IE: ATL pick + Boris Diaw for Chris Wilcox, Milwaukee pick + Gadzuric for Wilcox. Jamal Tinsley + Pick for Wilcox (Not likely with JO and Diogu still there). Nazr Mohammed + Pick for Wilcox + PHX pick. I mean, there are options out there we just need to find a team who wants a PF and has someone they want to dump.

We want cap space after next season, but we're not going to be ready t contend at that time, if we haev to wait two extra years for cap space but can acquire more young talent, I think it's worth it.

Man if some Nets fans see this thread it's all over for you guys there is this weird fetish for Wilcox on the Nets board... Or at least there was then we got Swift and I think some people's hopes and dreams were shattered by the fact that he wasn't as good as advertised so the hype on Wilcox has died down a little bit...

Wilcox is a bit of an enigma at times. One night he is unstoppable, the next he play's 30 minutes and you hardly see him on the floor.

I went to a Sonics game a little while ago and I came away from that game with one clear thought......The only obstacle keeping Wilcox from being an All-Star is himself.

He has the size, the hops, the soft hands, quickness; the list goes on and on until you get to heart. Wilcox has no heart.

It's kind of hard to hold it against the guy. He's living the dream, playing in the league making 7mil a year, where is his motivation?

If somehow the guy could keep himself motivated he has the tools to be an All-Star with the exception of heart. There fore he is replaceable like 95% of this team.
