JaVale McGee
First time I have taken a look at him. Very fluid athletic skilled big man who moves very well--this guy has the longest arms in the draft for sure to go along with a 7-0 body. If people are making Deandre Jordan comparison to Bynum--this kid looks like a skinnier clone. Same type of arm length--same type of touch---where has this kid been hiding?

Has a lot of physical tools to be great, but a terrible attitude on the court at this point in his career. He gets frustrated and tends to lose focus and effort on the court. Against New Mexico state the other day a friend of mine thought he saw JaVale scream "**** you!" at Mark Fox after the game.

I dont know about all of that. The bottom line at 7-1 with those skills he's easily top 7 material. He seems to poccess a lot of skills big men dont usually have plus he has Camby/Bynum type of length+athletic ability which translates well to the NBA.
There is going to be a situation wher a bunch of 6-3 SG are going to be available in the top 10--a VERY RARE occurence--if I had my choice between any of these 6-3 guys with the exception of Rose--I would take Javale

Whoo, he's super long - like a taller Tayshawn Prince. And with all those offensive moves, you gotta wonder why he didn't score 20 a game - though the last 4 games - he averaged 21.5. That's the problem with watching just highlights - they don't show his bad points. But wow - he's got serious potential.

I would probably discourage him from taking 3s unless he was following a play and had a pure shot. With his length--he should always be on or near the block. He could easily be a 60% shooter with a higher rebound total if he is in good offensive rebounding position with those long arms. I think his skills--atleast from the little biy I saw on TV and from the clips here translate well to the NBA. He should go this year--plenty of teams in the top 10 would take him IMHO.

Haha, you're funny
if he declared my top 5 would be: Beasley-Mayo-Rose-McGee-Arthur
I think now that many more people were able to watch combo guards like Gordon[who has absolutely been brutal the last 10 games] Bayless Westbrook and even Mayo are NOT in the same ceiling class as Mcgee. Mcgeee is a top 5 prospect---there is no doubt about it. There are few people on this earth with his height wingspan skill sets athletic ability ball handling ability for his size--the ability to step out and hit a jumper[although I would not allow this if I were an NBA team] The bottom line is with a little more strength this kid is going to be a monster I don't know if anyone got to see him the other day against Houston--he was in FT most of the game but it is what he showed right from the get go---post dunk--post dunk--post dunk--and that's why his ceiling is so high. he has such tremendous size length and athletic ability---he can execute a high quality post shot at will--he knows how to seal and use those long arms to get a high % shot or dunk from any angle in the post.
He can handle from the key take almost any NBA C off the dribble for a high-quality maneuver. Just way to much upside to ignore.

I don't doubt that McGee's size and fluidity make him extremely intriguing, but what accounts for the fact that he's scoring 14 point a game in the WAC? It seems like the only thing he does as much as he should is block shots. Also turns the ball over a lot.
What's his backstory? Is he a really late-blooming guy who was 6-4 two years ago or something? That'd certainly explain his perimeter skills. I'd like to see him in school another year.

"A late bloomer who went underrecruited out of Chicago. McGee's parents were both professional basketball players so he has been around the game from a young age ..."
