Rose as a SG
Do you think he could play SG, and how good do you think?

Agreed. It would be like playing Deron Williams at SG. Sure he could do it but then you go from having an elite PG to having a pretty average SG.
It would be more productive to move Conley for a SG, PF, or high draft pick.
....and no, you do not pass on Rose because you have Conley.

I may get flamed for this, but I kind of agree with this. I understand the "pure" "true" big athletic point stuff. Great. And there is no denying that Rose is a fantastic NBA PROSPECT...he's not a great player at this point. I've heard people call him great, and he's not. Honestly, I have yet to see a legit NBA skill in Rose's game. Seriously, like what skill does he have besides being a great unselfish athlete at the PG position? I haven't see one.
Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about lol. He is worth a top five pick, no question. But I've heard he's a "can't miss" prospect. NO!!!!! lol Maybe I'm wrong though I doubt it.

No I agree with you. I think Rose has been overhyped all year.
I don't get why people overhype him as a true PG, I have never never seen it. He isn't a can't miss prospect in my eyes. He still looks to me like a mix of a SG and PG, and it will greatly depend on whoever coaches him what type of player he will turn out to be.

How do you guys figure he's a SG? Because he's athletic? That's the only reason I could see. Other then that, he has PG vision, PG instincts, and PG handles. He is a true PG. IMO the only thing holding him back is his jumpshot. But, the kid is 19 years old. Even as it stands right now, if he entered the league and didn't develop a great jumpshot, he would still have the ability to blow by just about any defender thrown at him. Also, he has the ability to keep any PG on the opposing team in front of him.
The only way I see him as a combo guard at all is if he goes to Miami and they flip-flip Wade and Rose as PG and SG for several possessions.

I like him, but yea Rose is a bit overrated.. ..but he hasnt really proven much..hes in a bad situation in Memphis in terms of having the freedom to show what hes got..because. 1. stacked team and 2. lack of competition.
Hes somewhat of a potential guy, kinda like DeAndre Jordan, but he still has the chance to show why hes the consesus #2 in this tournament.

Rose is not nearly as raw as DeAndre Jordan. If Rose entered the league next season he could still blow by anybody. He could still run a pretty effective pick and roll. He could still find open teammates and run a do a good job of leading the break. He could D up the opposing PGs.CB4MiamiHeat wrote:I like him, but yea Rose is a bit overrated.. ..but he hasnt really proven much..hes in a bad situation in Memphis in terms of having the freedom to show what hes got..because. 1. stacked team and 2. lack of competition.

DeAndre Jordan would be able to rebound and get up and down the court. He is just way too raw right now to produce in the league next season.

Im sure Rose could POTENTIALLY become a shutdown PG cause of his length and athleticism.
Rose could also POTENTIALLY be great in the pick and roll, i say potentially becuase i havent seen Memphis use pick and roll the entire season.
Im just saying, Rose is a lot about potential..maybe not as much as DeAndre Jordan..but still.

I would like to see him get it done ON THE COURT against great competition, and great defensive teams. And he will get that chance.
He plays Mississippi State tomorrow..they have a great PG in Gordon and a shotblocking Center.
Next round vs. Michigan State...a good defensive team.
Next round vs. Texas...having to guard Augustine.
I like Rose's game, i think hell get it done.
