The Suns are Rolling

Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Sun Mar 23, 2008 4:24 am

They have quietly won 6 in a row, about to be 7 soon, they are now in sync with their new offense with the big cactus now acclimated, shaq has 23 and 11 on 8/10 fgs and 7/9 fts so far tonight and has been playing great recently.

Have you changed your mind about the trade since their slow start and what do you think so far?

Not much not to like about them right now. They're playing very well even with Nash in a bit of a slump. I'm sure he'll get going soon and then watch out. The next couple games will be a good test though. Detroit is a tough matchup for them.

Shaq finishes with 23 and 13.

Not too bad for an old man.

I didn't/still don't like the trade, but no way would I have written them off or grade the trade right away like some (ESPN) did. Shaq playing much better than I expected, motivated. Looks slim too. A slap in the face to Miami and their fans

Lakers are going to need Bynum to be 100% healthy to beat the Suns when it really matters.

I dont think they can get away with Gasol vs Shaq in a 7 game series

I think Shaq in a series dominates Gasol

Shaq and Amare dominated our severely undersized front court without Yao. Also didn't help that AMARE SHOT 20/20 FROM THE FREAKING FREE THROW LINE and SHAQ SOMEHOW LEARNED TO SHOOT FREE THROWS!

And the Suns shot 74% in the 1st half against a nominally (to that point) great defensive team.

I'm frankly astonished the game wasn't a complete blowout.

I agree. I honestly think this is the best big man tandem since Duncan and Robinson. And the rest of our team is quite a bit better than that Spurs team was. Shaq during this win streak has been much better than I expected. He's rebounding the ball as well as he did during his rookie season, which was his best rebounding year.

Gordon Giricek was a huge addition. He's really surprised me. Solid defense and another nice scoring boost off the bench. We're actually a legit 8(9 if we play Skinner) deep. Our bench has gone from average to one of the best in the league just by adding Gordon.

The Rockets didn't even try the 1st half gave up 74 pts, the 2nd half they actually buckled down though and played some D.

Sweet, 7 game win streak with wins over SA, GS, Portland and Houston. Too bad 10 of our last 13 games are against teams over .500 :o

Yeah D'Antoni couldn't think of a way to use Shaq, so he just copied Phil Jackson and Tex Winter. If they can get Shaq to guard that pick and roll they're set.

Good win for em tonight but we just didn't come out with any type of urgency. Alston came out bricking...and you know when he misses he misses badly and that allowed the Suns to run. They went on a 10-0 run that helped them to an 18 points 1st quarter lead and we could never catch up even though we beat them from the 2nd quarter on. You just can't chase points on the road against a good team and thats exactly what happened tonight.

I can't believe people thought the Suns made a mistake when they traded for Shaq! That was just a great trade for them. They would never win a championship with Marion but now with Shaq it might just happen.
Giricek was an excellent pick up as well. Very underrated player.
