Sign Bobby Jones

The sixers have an open spot on the roster. If they want to make a run in the playoffs, they should go in with a full roster. Jones would also give them some flexibility to rest some of their players at the end of the regular season. if i remember right, Raja Bell was brought in late in the 2001 season, and made a contribution in the playoffs. the coaches and jones are both familiar with each other. There is no downside to this move, other than a few comcast $'s.

I actually like how BJ fits on this team. He looked to have some potential as an athletic defender who was developing a three point shot. Sort of like a young Raja Bell.

On the flip side, he lacks polish, so wouldn't make an impact this year like a decent back-up center could. He was really sloppy looking in the summer league, and I doubt he would find minutes for him since he would be behind Carney (who has been filling the same role.)

If Carney or Green end up being moved this summer, I wouldn't mind bringing BJ back into the fold.

I'd rather see Petteri Koponen

but that's another story lol

Jones would be worth bringing in if Carney/Green were moved, like the other posters mentioned. He probably wouldn't get much PT if he was brought in now.

I think the Sixers need to bring in a guy that can hit 3's. If Jones is that type, so be it.

I know 3's are overrated but if the Sixers are down by 3 in the closing seconds of a tight playoff game, they really lack shooters that can take those types of shots.

Why????? He is a nothing player and who cares who the 15th player on the roster is, that is a move that doesn't need to be made, if it gets down to Bobby Jones, the season is long done.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
