The Lakers bench is pretty bad. There are a ton of teams with a better bench then them.

Let's at least be fair.

Turiaf = Powe (Turiaf gets more minutes, and is probably better defensively)
Vlad Rad = Brown (better offense, worse defense)
Posey > Ariza
Walton > Tony (all-around; Tony is better defensively)
Cassell = Farmar (Farmar can do more things, Sam has better experience)
House = Vujacic (Vujacic is actually having a better season shooting)
Davis > Mbenga

I like our starters better, though.

lol, I just don't see where you can pull a 10-2 Celts advantage from when the Lakers bench is probably the best in the L.....i'm pretty sure they score the most points and they are known to create leads

No offense, but the Lakers bench is overrated and I hope they don't get passed the 1st round.

There isn't one matchup me or RoyHobbs put down that the C's don't beat the Lakers in.

We'll see your team in the conference finals. There's only 2 decent players off the Pistons bench(Maxiell and Hayes). So that should be fun.

Agreed.

It's bad enough when people bring up free agency and say "you bought a championship", but it's downright absurd when they call trading "buying a championship". A team that you 100% drafted that wins a title would still be considered a "bought championship" under that logic, since the players are still getting paid.

Can anyone make sense of this? Why does the national media always claim that there exist dissension between two of the three All-Stars in Boston? Like the Boston media wouldn't know better.

When I hear whispers that Ray Allen has a problem with Paul Pierce being too selfish, I just wonder what the Celtics' record would be if everyone were on the same page up in Boston.

Number one, Ray Allen is too good a professional (and too classy) to allow a sentiment like that be known.

Number two, the following analysis shows that Paul Pierce is even more selfless than Ray Allen:

Code: Select all

                              Possessions    Assist-to-Possession
FG   Assists     (FG + Assists)         Ratio
R. Allen    865       184       1049                 17.5%
P. Pierce   989       321       1310                 24.5%

In other words, Ray Allen turns 1 of 6 possessions into an assist. Paul Pierce turns 1 of 4 possessions into an assist.

Mitch Lawrence, with this information in hand, would you really give any credibility to the "whispers" you hear? If so, you are an idiot. (If no, why didn't you even bother doing this analysis? Could it be because you are an idiot?)

The premise that any one would think that an NBA team can buy a championship is absurd. I have never heard one Laker or any other fan make such mis-informed comments. In fact, I wouldnt waste me time with such hearsay, because its just off base to begin with.

re: Lakers Bench, is not as bad as people claim. 7th in the league in scoring and 1st in 3pt %. With all of our injuries the bench has been thinned out the past few months.

I look forward to a potential Lakers v. Celtics finals with both squads being fully healthy.
Cheers. — Mags
