the celtics aren't playing in the west during the playoffs.

but if they make it to the finals, they have a great chance of wining it all.

imo, there toughest challenge is detroit in the ECF because detroit is a great defensive team too.

if a so so defensive team gets out of the west, the c's have a great shot.

ray allen is the better overall player.

he can actually dribble the ball in get into the lane for a layup.

come on now!

he's also a better clutch player. he has bailed out the c's so many times when their offense was struggling.

ray can get any shot he wants. peja has trouble with guys like battier who get into him and disrupt him and when he can't create his own stuff, its obvious he will struggle.

ray i think is also in much better shape, so he can tire out dudes while looking for some space to shoot.

After the 2003/04 season there is no question about that. However Peja in his Kings days was better. Like I said, he even won multiple world & european championships as first offensive option for his country. I have respect also for the basketball outside of US. How much close games has Peja won for the Hornets this year? Have you already forgoten that? Most of them have been against great west teams. And one more time, Allen does creates his shot better, but Peja still hits it with more accuracy, despite not beeing great "shot creator". Peja just doesnt looks healthy right now. Something just seems to be wrong. I dont know what it is.

To answer the Thread:

I think the NOH are dangerous, like the Jazz and Nuggets last year. I'm just not sure how well they can bang in multiple 7-game series.

They've been playing amazing, and maybe I am just bias because I have seen them play terribly 3/4 times vs. my Jazz, and get blown out a few times when they shouldn't have, but I keep expecting them to fail.

Then they keep proving me wrong.

NO has been a contender all year. If anyone had seen CP3 play often that would have been obvious.

Nah, Celts went 1-1 with them and I feel the same way. Even when they beat us I couldn't exactly point and say well here's the reason we lossed we weren't getting killed here and if we just change this... what a minute we were playing everything as we should of and we still loss how the ****?

And now THE SPURS are you kidding me! Tony Parker shatters his scoring marks in the first round, Flipnobloli is still great, Duncan should have his way offensively.. and CP3 is blowing them out. That's not suppose to happen, that's something LeBrong couldn't do last year and Paul is a PG. They should be failing right now against the dynasty of the NBA but they aren't. Oh well, Paul hasn't been hyped yet so if he wins at least ESPN attention will be a new thing.

^^Paul's playing incredible. He's playing legendary right now, take nothing away from him. But i believe his supporting cast is dreadfully underrated. Tyson Chandler's D and Byrons Scott's philosophy on Defense has kept the likes of TP, TD, and Gino shut down. Bowen being placed on CP leaves Peja having his way and no one on the Spurs can guard David West. CP is the fuel that keeps this engine going, but the engine is already there.

Again, CP is playing as great as i've ever seen a pg play, take nothing away from what he's done. Just give credit to the other players on his team stepping up.

It's just a matter of time before the wheels fall off.. Then again, we are talking about Chris Paul here who is not unlike a veteran who is mature way way above the level he is supposed to be in.

So unless CP3 hits some wall or something, Hornets are for real.
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am not going.

I hope so. I don't want Kobe to be able to reach or catch up to the legendary status that some of this board already give him. If he doesn't win a title this year or next, I'm calling him flat out overrated and nothing close to a legend. Kobe helped Shaq become a legend, not the other way around.

:o

Anyway, I fully expected the Hornets to take care of Dallas without too much trouble, but I'm surprised and impressed by what they've been able to do so far against San Antonio. I can't tell if they're for real yet, but it's starting to look like they might be.

If they knock out the Spurs, they'll have as good a chance to win the Ship as anyone else.

Return to The General Board
