the Mavs choke jobs..

Post#1 » by HarlemHeat37 » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:57 pm

are the Mavs the biggest chokers of all-time?there are probably teams that have done worse in history, but the Mavs have to be up there..the infamous NBA finals choke where they were up 2-0..incidents like the Howard timeout..last years Golden State series where everything went wrong..

this year it seems like the Mavs window is just about closed..they are still a good team, but it doesn't appear that they will be a championship contender, barring a major adjustment..there's also the possibility that Dirk's injury is severe, which would undoubtedly cripple them..

has any other team in NBA history wasted as many opportunities as the Dallas Mavericks have over the last few years?..

I'm wondering why they traded for Kidd. With nash, duncan, garnett getting old, within 2 years they would have been the front runner for a title in my opinion if they had kept their core together.

Biggie.

I've been wondering the same thing. From the day the main pieces of the trade were announced, I immediately questioned the deal. They gave up a LOT for a Kidd and it seemed pretty obvious that he wasn't going to make them that much better of a team. PG wasn't really their biggest problem. Basically, they gave up a lot for a minor short-term upgrade.

Unless they start to turn this thing around quick, this could be considered one of the biggest trade blunders in quite a while.

the way he phrased it, it made it seem that the mavs were also "worst defending champions" last time i checked, this current mavericks team hasnt won a championship.....

You don't think Miami was a horrible defending champ? They got swept out of the first round.

And the Mavs lost to the Warriors. Both teams from that Finals series were one hit wonders.

Lock this up.

Their star player gets injured TODAY in a conference where 3 games can take you out of the playoff picture and you post this TODAY?

I see why you guys defend guys like Bruce Bowen.

the Dirk injury is the reason I made this thread, because they have a strong chance of missing out on the playoffs..that would close the window for the Mavs, which is the point of this thread..

Dirk didn't die, he's going to return in 2 weeks..

Um, no.

The Mavs were contenders in the West for about 4 years prior to making the finals.

Double H you crazy son of a b-tch...I agree though, the Mavs are big time chokers and I was one person who actually thought the Kidd trade would make them better, I was wrong about that. Josh Howard hasn't meshed well with Kidd at all and the rest of the team just isn't cutting it out. And Kidd's offensive game went from sad to down right pathetic in Dallas, I mean how do you get held to single digits 9 games in a row? And this guy is still considered in the same class as Nash, Paul and Billups? Right...
