I said a player just need to be a leader or the best player on
one of the best team in the league, then he'll get the votes

Basically I don't think Amare is there just yet.
IMO he needs to add something more to his game,
other than just flat out scoring. i.e. More boards
(which is part and parcel of defense),
more assists or better defense.

For as good as he is he still has a lot of holes in his game
that guys like Bryant,
Paul and Nash do not. It will come in time for Amare though.

Nash does something else other than just score

a great leader..

amare has the MVP stats BUT this is what amare needs to develop to
be an MVP..

leadership!

regarding amares assists, i think he might not get assists, but he does create alot by driving, dishing BUT then it gets kicked right around the perimeter before someone shoots

amare creates for uor offense, but doesnt give an actual assist. he can definately be credit with some level of playmaking in that sense tho

amare needs a full season like his w/shaq numbers, plus a 60 win season and he will be a top 3 candidate

next year stat

If he does the following things, he will win next year:

30 ppg (not much of a stretch, really)
7 rpg (although I'd love to see 10).
4 apg

60% FG
85% FT
33% 3FG (1 per game)

And some progress on the D.
