Agreed. We stopped hating because he stopped playing like garbage. Makes sense, da?

Yeah, but if EJ and/or EG had bought into the DSong hate and given up on him as some posters we're suggesting, DSong would have never had a chance to show that he could make a real contribution to the Zards.

I'll admit it. I was one of the biggest Songalia haters on the board. But, I'd much rather be wrong and have our team succeed than have them prove me right.

Songalia has been absolutely key to our turnaround over the past couple of weeks. He gives us efficient scoring and effort off the bench (like a second team Jamison)... Keep it up big guy!

Considering Songaila's minutes dropped steadily for the first three months of the season, who's to say that they hadn't started giving up on him? An injury to Caron basically forced a spike in his minutes starting in February, poor play and all.

It doesn't seem that far-fetched to me to assume his minutes would have continued to dwindle if that injury never happened. Really, considering that Songaila wasn't any better for most of February than he had been the first three months, that's the likeliest scenario in my book.

Is it possible that EJ and EG kept the faith and believed in the guy through thick and thin, and now, in the season's fifth month, that patience is starting to reward them? Sure, it's possible. But personally, I think it's a lot more likely that they were just in a tough spot with Caron's injury and they had no other choice than to bump up Songaila's minutes, and just lucked out that he got out of his season-long slump a couple weeks before Caron returned. That's not a knock on either guy; after all, this is a playoff caliber team in a professional league. I wouldn't expect them to have infinite patience for an 8th man who has played maybe two months of especially good ball in the almost two seasons since he's joined the team.

And to much patience is a waste of time.

I have no problem with fans slamming him earlier because it wasn't like it was one game. He stunk for a good part of the season. People were frustrated because he was getting minutes over other player who could have used the time to develop.

But now that he is one. Great. But it wasn't like people didn't show patience before starting to dump on him.

Maybe Songailia is one of those players that performs better in the 2nd half of the season, much like Antonio Daniels when he was coming off the bench. I also think Songailia dirty tactics on defense are less likely to be called for fouls in the postseason.
