Best big man in crunch time?

Chris actually tries to do the right thing in the crunch as of late. His first few years he would settle for the jumper but lately he heads straight to the rim and picks up free points.

Yeah I was going to mention him, since nobody else has. For a big man he does quite a bit of scoring in the crunch at better efficeincy then a lot of the others, and has became pretty good at reading defences, and passing. Comes up with some pretty big blocks down the stretch too.

I'll take Boozer. Boozer has several qualities that I like better than the other candidates. He doesn't turn the ball over much, he shoots FT's quite well, he plays within 15 feet at all times, and therefore shoots a higher percentage than most bigmen, and he is an absolute bear on the offensive glass. If he misses from within 5 feet, I'd say he's got a 30% chance of squeezing the board and having another shot at it.

I'd take Duncan, you can count on him on the defensive end and know you'll get a good shot on the offensive end.

Thanks a ton for compiling these stats, I know it must have been a bit of a pain.

Anyway, I think Boozer is a good choice given these stats. He not only has the highest FG%, but the highest rebound rate. He even blocks shots at an acceptable rate (never thought I'd see that in any Boozer stat).
He assists at a high rate, and he's a decent FT shooter.

The bottom line is that he is dominant in efficiency and rebounding, while being acceptable to good in all other areas. People don't watch him enough. He's a great clutch player.

is a per 48 stat for a last 2 minute really the best thing to weigh these guys on? i like seeing dirk at the top of that list but im not sure if per 48 is the best you can do

IMO al jefferson should be mentioned before KG in terms of crunch time. also chris bosh is great at stepping up in the 4th.

82games.com clutch play stats are for "4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points." Seems like a pretty decent stat.

Here's clutch stats for the whole league btw:

Slightly OT, but look at the f*cking Spurs:
Ginobili: 41.5 pts/48, .540 fg%
Parker: 29.0 pts/48, .595 fg%
Duncan: 28.8 pts/48, .536 fg%

That is some unbelievably efficient clutch scoring, and we all know they have play great d in crunch time. No wonder they win so many championships.

Amare. with his ft shooting and the fact that he's tough to guard under the baket with Nash outside.

Okur. He seems to hit big threes a lot because of what D-Will and Boozer create.

Duncan has been bailed out on missed FT's a lot in the clutch, its his only real flaw.
