Why would anyone say the Suns wouldn't beat the Lakers when they've beaten them the last 2 years in the 1st round and since Shaq arrived they've beaten Boston, San Antonio and now won 7 straight and about to overtake LA in the standings? Plus the Lakers with Gasol barely beat the Suns in Shaq's first game. It just doesn't make any sense, aren't you ashamed of your posts?

As for this Kobe Shaq debate, history will recall that Shaq won all 3 Finals MVPs and an MVP during the 3-peat. And it will recall that Shaq put up 27ppg 63%fg in LA's Finals loss to Det while Kobe had one of he worst individual series in Finals history. History will also recall that Shaq won a Championship with Miami, and while Wade was the Finals MVP it is noteable that during Shaq's time with Miami he was favorite to win MVP when Nash won. In other words, Kobe has everything to prove in his comparison with Shaq while Shaq has nothing to prove and is only extending the sizeable gap the more he achieves.

the suns are currently 3rd. the spurs are currently 6th.

why worry about the LAKERs. phoenix might not even make it out of the first round?

The Suns are 1-0 v SA since the Shaq trade. And will play them again very soon. SA is virtually the sole reason why the Shaq trade was made. It wasn't for LA.

You can say that about the Lakers as well...

Do yourself a favor and drop the whole superiority act... it is childish.

You want to know the difference between the Suns and the Spurs between your Lakers... 1/2 and 1 game. No team in the west is a lock to make it out of the first round.

You could phrase it like that, or you could phrase it that the Suns still lost to the Lakers while having key players out.

Well the Lakers had Gasol and Kobe. And they had their best offensive game of the year. I wouldn't expect LA to score 130 that often.

cmon TD, thats the whole point i'm trying to make. this thread is what, unchildish nitpicking about lets see . . . ANOTHER SHAQ AND KOBE THREAD?!?

you are correct, the point is 1 game here or there, they'll play each other. 1 game here or there, they'll miss each other altogether. the fact is as of right now, phoenix 3, spurs 6, thats a first round matchup. at least someone is attempting to bring some factual basis to another shaq vs. kobe slamfest.

I agree... the fact that there hasn't been any real meaningful discussion from all parties in a while only makes this lock easier to justify.
