This kid has been tearing it up lately for the 76ers.
In his last 12 games:
11.2 PPG
4.9 RPG
1 APG
1.5 STL
60.8 FG%
Getting about 26 minutes a game. He hasn't even turned 20 yet (June). The Sixers are 10-2 in those 12 games, also.
I am kinda thinking we could be using him at the 3 for now and the future. Would have been nice to trade down with Philly and get him.

I DON'T WANT NO MOTHER F'ING CASH COWS ON THIS MOTHER F'ING TEAM!!
But seriously, I know that a big part of why they drafted Yi was the money but seriously, they had to see something in him. You don't draft a guy just because you think he can garner your team money. You want him to produce on the court. He hasn't so far which is why that trade looks stupid.

while his stats the past two months have been impressive, his defense is even better. In some of his starts he's shut down all stars like Jamison, Rashard Lewis (two times), and just this Saturday cooled off Vince Carter when he went hot in the third. Some of the things he does dont show up on the stats sheet. I believe he's leading the sixers in +/-. Without making any drastic roster moves he would be perfect for the bucks, right now. His unselfishness/defense would compliment the backcourt. No way the sixers trade him though.
btw he would have been a top 3 (Oden/Durant/Young) pick in 06 if it wasn't for the age limit, the talent is there.

Young, Cook and Landry woulda been nice.
I'm sure we would've had the foresight to make those picks. Sure, that could have happened but you also have to consider that we could have just as easily done this:
Julian Wright
Jason Smith
Gabe Pruitt
Obviously that is pretty much worst-case if we were drafting at the 76ers positions but you get the point I'm trying to make that it just as easily could've gone this way although I think we would have had the smarts to hopefully at least take Thaddeus with the first one.
Any of these listed guys could still end up being pretty good, too. I also understand you're thinking out loud about an ideal draft but just keep in mind that we easily could have picked this average group of players.

Yeah I'll be the first to admit that I haven't even been keeping a close eye on most of these rookies lately other than Young and a handful of other guys I have more interest in. I assumed Wright was looking decent now but I was looking for guys that haven't really broken through yet.
There is probably a range of 3-5 guys that we could have taken with each of those respective picks and right now many of them look like solid contributors at the very least so personally I would have been a fan of the Yi for 3 picks deal especially in hindsight even if you didn't tell me which exact 3 guys we'd get.
This will best be evaluated in 2-3 years though when some of the guys in the 15-30 range of picks that we could have had plateau as mediocre players and others blossom into the contributors we really could have used.

I remember it pretty good, my ideal draft if we woulda gotten the 3 picks would have been Young, Williams and Almond. Granted they werent available at those picks.
