Should Sam be the third PG, and not the 2nd ??
Actually, this is how I thought that Sam would be used originally.
Eddie, who played a great 60 games, would remain the first backup for Rajon, unless he couldn't handle the ball or was just bricking that day.
Tony (who might have won Saturday's game, had he been available to take some of Sam & Posey's 30 minutes of non-production) would remain the backup SG.
Instead, Sam seems to have zipped past both Tony and Eddie, based on some sort of entitlement minutes, when his play has clearly been worse than anything Gabe Pruitt ever demonstrated.
With the exception of a great two quarters against San Antonio, Sam has been a pretty much non-event except for his clanged shots, turnovers, and fouls which mean later fouls in the quarter by starters will become shooting fouls.
Is it time to show him a seat on the bench and hand him a towel??
Eddie House excels in that role, but Eddie still has game.

Sam, and PJ Brown, haven't even practiced with the team yet. Give it a little time. House might be a better option right now, but against the Pistons there's no way we can play House at pg since he can't break their press. The potential Detroit series, and Cleveland to a lesser extent, is what we should be building towards.

Sam should be the second pg. I think Sam only knows one play right now. A new player in the system who will look the most lost is the point guard. Sam is confused as to what to do right now so he ends up looking for his own shot or dribbling around too much. Hopefully he picks up the system by late April.
Another thing to mention is that he hasn't been coming off the bench recently. I can't recall right now whether he was a backup to Livingston, but it would be very hard for a starter for 10 years to get used to coming off the bench.
I'm not worried about Sam I Am.

No. If anything, I'd be looking to get Sam more time to get him more comfortable with the system in game situations and to let him get his mid-range jumper back. The guy has been one of the best mid-range shooters in NBA history, yet he looks like Rondo from last year out there shooting jumpers. KG went through a similar horrible shooting situation as Sam (keep in mind, Sam was out February 20th to March 10th with a wrist injury and then the buy out) when he took 2-3 weeks off with the oblique injury but got his shot back after about 10 games. Sam will, too.
If we lose a couple meaningless regular season games because Sam isn't ready to play well yet, so be it. We've almost certainly got the #1 seed locked up and it's really all about planning for the playoffs right now. Limit the minutes of the Big 3 a bit so they are fresh in the playoffs and get Sam (and PJ) used to the system and playing well should be the Celtics top priorities.

I don't have a problem with PJ as he has been used in matchup situations and is producing on defense and the boards. He has been used as he was supposed to when picked up. Tommy sure was a little annoyed about how Cassell comes in and slows the game up. I posted this the other night how the play stalled. Maybe this is an experiment with the way playoff games sometimes are played, but you don't slow the game down in the third period or whenever Sam is in the game.

Its Doc's fault we've lost the last 2 games. He didn't bring Rondo in soon enough in the Hornet game and didn't bring Perk in soon enough in the 76ers game.
Come on, you really think the C's lost last night because Perk didn't get in the game soon enough? Powe outplayed Perk all night. I know Perk does certain things that don't show up on a stat sheet, but I think your just hating on Doc if you really think the reason the C's lost is because Perk wasn't in the game.
The reason the C's lost is because Philly wanted the game more, the C's expended their intensity getting geared up for the Texas three step, Philly at home on a Monday night just isn't the same. I can understand this little slip up, come playoff time this won't be a problem.

BOS lost last night because they went scoreless for 6 1/2 minutes in the fourth and couldn't stop anyone. I think KG has to step up in that situation. He sees Paul and Ray don't have it. Start rebounding trying to get easy layups to make up for rays long ass 3's last night. That weren't even close by the way.

Was it worse when we started the 5 game road trip 4-0 and were leading the Hornets by double digits? The reason our play has dropped off is because I think that after sweeping the Texas trip, the team felt that it had nothing left to prove. Also, the big 3 are playing less minutes and of course Cassell and Brown are still fitting in. I'm sure that with a practice today and Thursday and some motivation in the next 2 games (the only 2 teams that we haven't beat this season) the team will play much better.

So you guys actually think anyone was playing last night.
KG take over? He threw two passes away nearly back to back in the third.. that shows you how much he was concentrating..
The team didn't want to play last night, and ended up not having enough left in the tank agaisnt NO or DAL to put up a good show.
Big woop. I'll be concerned when the team plays full force and Sam ISN'T an asset at PG compared to House

Yes, Sam should be the PG #3 because House is the better player. However, I think Doc's giving Sam some extra minutes right now to get comfortable and acquainted with his teammates, so when we really need him in the postseason, he'll be able to step right in. We pretty much have the home court clinched, so that gives us the luxury to play bench players more.

rondo - cassell, House
r. allen - t. allen, House
pierce - posey
kg - Big Baby
Perk - Powe, Brown
If you have a 2nd unit bakcourt of cassell and allen, you have one guy who can handle the ball, shoot jump shots, and distribute... and one guy who can slash, finish, and defend.
they cover for each others weaknesses. you can't say the same for a cassell and house backcourt.
Sam, Ray, Paul, and Posey all shoot the 3 well. we aren't lacking in outside shooting. I think House is clearly the third option.
