Sixer's bench - How do we compare with other team's?

I feel a lot of confidence when our 2nd unit is on the floor. How do you think we rate with other benches in the league? Two of our best players Lou and Thad often come off the bench evening out the 1st and 2nd units.

There's Kool-Aid and then there's crack. I am drinking the Kool-Aid (cheering my team on and thinking we can win every game)... you are smoking crack (saying that we might be the deepest team in the league).

Perhaps by "league" you meant "conference" because I do think we're one of the deeper teams in the East but I think there are 9-10 teams in the West that are deeper than us which means that we are in the middle of the pack in the league.

Celtics, Warriors, and perhaps the Jazz are the teams that come to mind when I think of depth.

There are other teams too, but the Sixers don't compare to these teams at all. We beat the Celtics last night but I'd be shocked if we could win 2 games against them in the postseason.

Dude you should learn to read more carefully before you insult someone (i.e. smoking crack). I never said anywhere that I think we have the best bench in the league. I simply posed a question so that we can discuss our bench. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing more, nothing less?? The subject of this thread asks if the Sixers are the deepest team in the league. In order for you to ask the question, you must believe that this is a debatable issue which to me, it isn't even close.

Sorry the crack comment but again, I find your question to be THAT far out of the realm of reason.

I changed the question to more reflect my intentions. I honestly had not done a full assessment myself, I just knew I liked our chances when our bench was in and wanted to see how others felt.

Now that you've changed the subject... I stick to my intial post in that I think we're toward the top in the East but the West has 9-10 superior teams with deeper teams.

Also... I think it's a fair point to say that while we may not have the best bench in the league, when you factor in age, I think that there are a lot of teams that would love to have our bench players. San Antonio has a deeper today but in two years, our guys will still have their primes ahead of them while San Antonio's guys will be retired.

Thadd and Lou have been great. They are a huge reason why this team is beyond dangerous. Smith might be able to play a situational role also.

Green is frustrating because he's very inconsistent and Carney even more frustrating.

No this isn't a deep team right now. Going 2 deep off the bench with a shaky starter or two doesn't make your team deep, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the best in the East.

Our bench right now is just athletic. While that is good, we have relatively little skill on the 2nd unit. In a few years however, with our new rookies and our young players now will make a very good bench.
