i absolutely refuse to believe this. The guy was drafted in 93, no way is he coming back. Besides, if we were going to bring in a PG, it would be donnell taylor

I think he means they signed Haywood Workman ... or was it Ennis Whatley?

They're in their forties whereas Whitney might not be seasoned enough.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Is this one of those Art Monk deals, where a guy signs a 1-day contract so that he can retire with the team he's most associated with?

It does make sense for C-Whit to go into the HOF as a Wizard.

Can't be right. Chris Whitney is 36 years old. Last played four years ago. A mistake by ESPN.

Signed as a free agent by the Washington Wizards on 8/25/03.

It's 3/25/08. The year and the month got mixed up

Whoa, this is like the Davinci Code (without the religious inuendo stuff). 8)

I always liked Chris Whitney's efforts for the Wiz. He wasn't talented, and he was small, but he played through injuries.

maybe he's trying to re-claim his title as the Wizards franchise all-time leader in 3 pt fgs, which he recently lost to gilbert i believe.

I doubt the Whitney thing is true but it does make sense for the Wiz to sign a PG to a 10-day contract to finish out the season (assuming they have the room under the tax). Even with Gil returning, having another guard will allow them to rest AD not only in games but in practice as well. I'd look for them to pickup somebody around April 6 or 7.
