Trap game implies that you were playing a team that hadn't won 18 of 23 and taken down powerhouses like San Antonio, Detroit, Dallas, Phoenix, and now you. Not sure you've got the right definition of "trap".
The truth about this game is that our team matches up well against yours. Yes, the Celts would obviously still beat us in a series. But truth be told, we have high energy athletes who are young, can run the fast break better than most teams in this league, and can play some really impressive defense when it matters - and we're led by a veteran PG who knows how to control the tempo of the game.

I like Philly's team, and I'm impressed with how they've played, but Mang is still on the money. The Celtic's forgot to show up for this game, if you watched a lot of Celtic's games you'd know the difference. Our D wasn't itself, and during the 4th quarter everyone was standing around on offense, leading to a lot of easy turnovers. Good luck in the playoffs though, I'll be rooting for Philly against everyone 'cept the C's of course, you've got a great effort team.

on Championship teams there is no such thing as a trap game, same for every other team in the NBA, play a hundred percent, and always be motivated.
Celtics shouldve been motivated to slow down the Sixers who have beaten NBA power house teams like the Suns,Celtics,Pistons,Spurs

With the best scorer in the NBA by our side, anything can happen.

You do realize you have to win the prior game for the next game to be a trap game? And your responses are sad for the entire Celtic fanbase because you make all of them look downright stupid by the way the select few of you act. Like I said, you recieved a gift from Ainge and you are the 07-08 Malone-Payton Lakers. The big ticket will only get to go to the Finals if he buys a icket to it lol.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

This is the same fanbase that called Gerald Green the next Lebron lol. I dont know why Im wasting my time with you Boston rejects. The Redsox and the Pats fans have reasons to gloat, you do not. I cant wait till your team loses in the playoffs due to the Choke 3. When is the only time Ray Allen misses a shot? In big games! Choke, choke choke choke choke choke. At least your players and the Boston media realize it wasnt a trap game. I wonder what Ainge got for Mchale for that big girf he gave him. Why dont you act like youve been there before instead of being such sour sports.

Listen here dude,
I give the Sixers props for their recent play, and they played hard enough to beat the Celts last night. We will concede that. Sure. No problem. They're tearing it up right now, making a surge at the right moment.
However, most fans on this board have seen the majority of Celts games this year. I myself, have caught most of them live on TV, and the ones I didn't happen to catch, I was fortunate enough to either download, or catch on the Comcast replay. And I can tell you with 100% confidence that the Celts' intensity level during last night's game was no where close compared to what we've been seeing this season.
Last night's game was winnable. The Celts already beat the Sixers down 3 times this season, and one of them was after February 5 when this remarkable play of the Sixers had started. You guys had won 12 out of the last 15, and what did the Celts do? They came into your city and beat your boys down by 14.
What happened last night? Your boys came in, and beat the Celtics down. Sure, the Sixers played well. But if you honestly think that was one of the better efforts the Celts have put forth this season, then you haven't watched much Celtic basketball. We felt it was a winnable game, but thanks to that piss-poor intensity, we got beat.
So when most of us refer to it as a trap game, it's more of a jab at the Celtics weak effort last night as opposed to saying it was a lucky win by the Sixers. You guys played with more intensity than our guys. Nothing wrong with that at all. Congrats to you guys, but we're more upset with how our guys played.
What I can't seriously understand is why this handful (I'd hate to generalize, because that's ignorant) of Sixers fans are coming into the game thread, saying something like "Yeah, we wouldn't be able to beat you guys in a 7-game series", but then get upset when we refer to it as a "trap game"? If you guys are already conceding that the Celts are a better team, why get upset at Celts fans who think the Cs should have won last night's game because they're a "better team"?
Come to think of it, this sad display of wanting R-E-S-P-E-C-T is even worse than what some of the Raptors fans were doing at the start of the season, when they were busy patting themselves on the back due to their success from last season. But hey, at least those guys did it for a whole season, even winning the Atlantic. Your boys have been winning for what, 2 months now? Gimme a break.

hey Sixer fans that was agood win for you so props to the sixers . There'slots of reasons why teams win and lose in this league and from where I sit I thought the C's lost this game because they took Philly too lightly and didn't come out aggressively enough. The free throw numbers rarely lie and the fact that Philly went to the line 44 times versus our 20 tells you pretty much everything you need to know about this game. I don't doubt that we were looking ahead to Phoenix and I think that if Doc played his starters as many minutes as Philly played Miller and AI that this might have turned out differently but to get hung up on whether this was a trap game or not is a waste of words and time. I'm more concerned about Phoenix right now. Focus wise they are where we were last week in Texas while we are in a state of disorganization. I could easily see a third loss tongiht unless we get our stuff together in a hurry.

This "lack of intensity" is an interesting theme - and repeated one among those teams that we've beaten. I'm pretty sure if you asked Phoenix, Houston, Detroit, San Antonio, and Dallas how their intensity looked when we played them, they'd say the same thing you guys are. And that's because this is precisely how this Sixer team beats their opponents. It's not that you're guys "lacked" intensity. It's the fact that you guys were unable to match ours. Ditto for the rest of those clubs.
