I expect he's still not 100% post-surgery, for starters. The other thing I'd note is that we're going through long periods of play where the rest of the team is playing matador defense. When that happens, it often ends up with Goose in the lane trying to guard 3 people, one of whom is flying at the rim with the ball. That leads to fouls. Once he starts to get in foul trouble, he starts to play "wrong" in trying to avoid getting more fouls. This is totally counterproductive; he ends up playing lousy defense, and because he's fighting all his instincts, I'm not sure it even ends up reducing his fouls any. For all the times we may rag on Barnett, I thought Barnett was spot on in the second Lakers game when he was getting visibly agitated with Biedrins for defending wrong. Lots of sputtering complaints along the lines of, "What is he doing???", "That's no way to play defense!!!", etc. etc. The one that killed me was a play where he stood there arms up like he was hoping to take a charge while Odom calmly tiptoed around him and laid it in.
He's my favorite player on the team. But I think once he gets in foul trouble, he doesn't know how to handle himself. And there are various factors contributing to get him in early foul trouble lately, between the play of others and him being a step slow himself (possibly/likely due to surgery recovery).

I don't believe in a Nellie conspiracy thing regarding Biedrins. It was obvious after last season that Biedrins needed his minutes cut, since he had very little left in the tank at the end. The Warriors needed another center to take minutes from him and another big body to help him bang inside. I'm not sure what happened there, but you would think that at least POB could have helped.
Right now you would have to think that his surgery is affecting his play. I was amazed how quickly he came back from this surgery. I'm hoping that he starts to get back to where he was prior to his surgery soon.

Hes a gonner at the end of the season. Believe it I personnally think Wright is a better player then Beans.
We should have traded him when we had the chance for Smoove.
Hes gone in the off season no way Nelly brings him back.
Best senerio is for Elton Brand. Makes us legit Contenders, while Baron and Jackson are still in their primes and Montas only going to get better.
Brand Baron Jackson Ellis and Whome ever.
Theres many different ways to this we can sign and trade Beans along with Al and a first and Marco.
While Brand can also opt out and we can do a sign and trade that way also. It could also be a 3 way deal with Beans going to Chicago and Gordan going to the Clippz.

biedie has that deer in the halogen headlights look to me, much like
barnsie, but different kind of girl problems...
spring fever---has he finally totally fallen for his latvian lass and sunken
into that useless, lovesick abyss?
or, is she putting the hammer to him, demanding that mega-rock and
ceremony or she goes packing and shacking to another euro star?
maybe it's the shipping off of all his russki buddies, a-z, jessica savages to
uri geller to zarko?

I think its a lot closer than most are willing to give... I said earlier in the season that Wright at 19/20 is ahead of Biedrins was in that same age... of course the faithful screamed

Wright sure brings more potential production than Biedrins on most nights though. Of course, you have to grin and bear the rookie mistakes he sometimes makes, which you wouldn't with Biedrins...
By next season there may not be any question at all..

To me, Wright and Biedrins play different positions; Wright is a PF and Biedrins is a center. I would not move Biedrins thinking that Wright is a better player.
I don't want to see Wright manning the center position next year full time.
The only problem I see with retaining Biedrins is the amount of money he is going to want and what the Warriors are willing to pay him.

If Nellie was playing him properly, he was fully healthy and wasn't banging that blonde so much, he'd easily be and 18pt, 10-12 reb per game. The only reason that Wright may be ahead of him now is because he hasn't been around long enough, playing for Nellie to have his growth (Please Use More Appropriate Word) the same way Beans has.

Biedrins has NEVER shown that he can be an 18ppg scorer in the NBA. I like the guy and think he has the potential to one day be an 18/12 guy, but its still at least a few years away.
This is part of the reason why I find it so amazing that people complain about Biedrins' growth being stifled while we win now. Our entire team would be stifled if we focused on pounding the ball into him, where he really doesn't have the strength or the repertoire to be a consistent scorer.

Biedrins when he gains more muscle/strength will be a very good center. In today's NBA you don't need to rely on your center for a lot of your production. You need a center who can protect the rim and add rebuilding and some scoring.
With Wright at PF, you will eventually have a more athletic post up player that will be relied on for his scoring and post up abilities.

The guy had surgery and is now struggling......It happens.
He'll be back, and he'll play more than Wright down the stretch.
I wouldn't let Beans go no matter what. His trade value will be good after we sign him even if down the road we decided to deal him.
To let him go now would net you nothing.
He had a great and busy off-season last year, so maybe he's gassed a bit.
The problem I have with him right now is his hands.
