I agree. The weird thing is this is the first time in awhile where the Bucks actually made a major move I strongly endorsed beforehand. I hope this is a trend we see going forward.

I'd be fine with that, but I do know Hammond (along with Tony Ronzone) were big in the drafting of Darko at #2.

You shouldn't hold that against him, because literally every GM in the league had Sucko at either #2 or #3.

Yup. That's an excellent point. The Pistons mucked up but virtually every other team that would've picked that year would've made the same mistake.

It's like when the Packers took Tony Mandarich. Sure it was gigantic bust but it's a mistake every other team picking second that year would've made as well. The player was highly regarded and was almost unanimously viewed as a can't-miss prospect.

This isn't to excuse the Pistons for making the mistake; but it does clarify the point that they wouldn't have been the only team to make it.
