This Off Season

Post#1 » by ShowtimeFan » Wed Mar 26, 2008 9:53 pm

Any interest is Warrior Free Agents:

Monta Ellis (making $770,610 this season)

or Matt Barns (making $3mil this season)

Lakers will have the MLE ($5+mil) to spend

I like both of these guys' play and the Warriors are going to have to pay Ellis more then the MLE to keep him.

Monta Ellis is going to get a big pay day. If for some reason he wants the MLE from a contender then there is no way I say no. He would be crazy off of the bench.

Barnes would be a good addition if we didn't already have 4 players who will receive most of their time at SF next season not to mention Kobe every once in a while.

I'm sorry but if we got Ellis (Which there is no shot in hell we will) he is definitely not coming off the bench. He'd definitely get the start over fish.

not to change what you're talkig about with free agents. But what about our draft picks? I'm excited to see who we get since we've done so well the last 3-4 years. Also, I want to see us bring in Sun Yue.

Free agents:
Ellis isn't going to be available to us.
Calderon would be nice but he'll probably get snagged up.

All we have is a very late second round pick (57th overall at this point), so don't really expect too much to come out of it. I think we will probably go foreign and try to steal the next Ginobili from Europe.

I actually wouldn't mind Ellis off the bench. He wouldn't have to run the offense as a 6th man. Just go out there and be selfish and score. Basically what Farmar does. But yeah there is 0% chance of it happening so there is no use arguing over it.

back on topic....
Monta, does not leave GS.

I dont think we need barnes and I even doubt we use our MLE , unless its a steal deal.

GS will not let monta leave, if anything they give him most of the money and let baron leave. Sad but i feel they will consider monta as the future along with biedrins. barnes im not too impressed with him, alot of hustle but not that consistent and plays out of control. If i wanted to get a sf from the warriors it would be pietrus. but i wouldnt want to give up the entire MLE for him.

Say split the mle between Magloire and Gerald Green. Green can be groomed under Kobe and Magloire with Turiaf of the bench is huge of the bench down low. Plus with injuries to our bigs over the past few years Magloire is a great insurance policy.

Fisher/Farmar/Sasha
Kobe/Green/Coby
Odom/Luke/Ariza
Pau/Turiaf/Vlad
Bynum/Magloire/Mihm

We are 12 deep at all times no matter who is on IR.

acutally...green did pretty good under pierce...his rookie season wasant too impressive but hey, its rookie...his second year was what impressed me...he stepped up huge when he started his second year..having like what? in the 26 games he started that year 15 of the games he scored 15 or more points..

the 14 games he started at Guard..he averaged 15pts 3rebs 2ast
the 12 games he started at forward..he averaged 17pts 4rebs 2ast

he likes to play against also...the 2 games against us last year he averaged 21pts 4rebs 3ast

Chris Duhon? Make a bid at Hinrich while his value is low!

PG help is our immediate concern imo, we need a starter pretty soon.

I like the Hinrich idea. I dont think we have the resources to get him without giving up Lamar. If we had to trade Lamar, I would maybe do Lamar and Farmar for Hinrich and Noah.

Kobe/Hinrich/Ariza/Pau/Bynum with Noah off the bench at PF/C
