I think JJ...
has given up. He doesn't seem to come out with the same intensity when he plays. He just look like he was just throwing shots up and stuff. Not trying to attack him but I just think he realizes that has no future and he is just biding his time.

So he had a bad night for his token 9 minutes and you say that he has given up. Then you are think that Evans gave up as well since he was 1-5 or Bogans who was 1-5 from the free throw line.
I didn't see him giving up, but I knew that the Redick bashers would be out in full force when he missed those shots even though none of the other sg's did well either.
Check the stats if you don't believe me.

I'm officially ready to say what I thought at the time. JJ was a bad pick. I wanted Ronnie Brewer at the time, and he would be perfect here. We have pissed away 3 straight drafts with nothing to show of it. If we make it a 4th this year I am going to be very annoyed. Someone have Otis call me, I will talk him through this whole drafting thing.

The Magic can draft good.......If they get the first pick and then it goes way down hill from there. When they passed on Boozer. That was when I lost all faith in the Magic's drafting ability. They all way's try and find the diamond in the ruff. They all way's try and take a guy that they can turn into something they are not. Sure you have to look at talent and skills and shooting, but they never factor in a players track record with reagrds to winning, intelligence and confidence. Those are the x factors because if they were'nt Steven Hunter would have been Dwight Howard.

No one can accept the fact that he is just not an NBA player. It is excuse after excuse that you guys keep making for him. When he gets in, he does poorly. But of course the reason for that is no confidence any more. It couldn't possibly be that EVERYONE on the floor is more athletic than him and can actually play defense, unlike college.
But of course if he just sits on the bench, he isn't getting a chance to prove that he is the COLLEGE player of the year and how great he is. It isn't that he doesn't deserve to play, can't play defense, and looks lost out on the floor unless we are specifically running him off 100 screens to try and get him a look that he can miss.
Accept that he is not a good NBA player.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Tarheel we had this discussion not so long ago so I can honestly say you are lying. You know better because it was pointed out to you that every time he gets double digit minutes he's produced double digits or near double digits. You couldn't refute it because the stats are there. Your argument there was that if he got more minutes he'd show it was a fluke. Silly argument but you made it.
There is no player in the history of the league that has been at their best after sitting for a month plus. all players have shown rust under that scenario. We all know that if this week he goes out and puts up 10 in ten minutes you would just create another excuse to wave it off so its not a matter of having evidence . There isn't enough evidence to make an arguement either way stick but as usual this has more to do with your tarheel love than it does Magic support. Honestly from your own perspective what kind of Magic fan would be "sitting back and laughing" that we wasted another pick? and you've written that several times. Stick to March madness.

Actually I think thats a cliche thats based on a myth. Even the most seasoned veteran in the league gets frustrated under the right situations. Younger payers in this league have always been frustrated with playing time if they aren't getting it. I love Stan but I don't get the point of telling ANY player that they have no shot of getting into the rotation. injuries can change alot of things.
Don't know if its true that he has an attitude but sorry as long as you do it in a subdued way thats part of how things get done in the league - you make people know you want to be traded it does make teams a little bit more likely to trade you . If I'm JJ I'd feel a little toyed with. Theres the Gm saying he's holding on to me because I can play and then I have the coach telling me I have no shot at playing.
In the real world how an employee values or devalues an employee always has an impact on an employee's attitude toward the job. Sport cliches don't change the real world.

So wait if JJ puts up 10 points its enough to say hes going to be a productive player but when he comes in blows assignments and cant even hit wide open shots we are making excuses? Jockriding can be dangerous

Nope. You make excuses when he puts up ten points and then come riding in as if you have a great point after he has a bad game after sitting out several months. Failing to engage the brain can be hazardous to your mental health. There just isn't enough evidence to claim he is or is not going to be an NBA caliber player.
