Cool, which one would you normally be going to? I'm usually at the Lakeville one although I don't have a membership. I'm trying to find really good reasons for biting the $60+ per month bullet.

Sorry, I was just joking. You made it sound like there were a bunch of Derrick Rose's playing ball at your gym. I'd gladly buy a membership to see that.

Haha, sorry I didn't catch the sarcasm.

I'm hoping Memphis wins the national championship because we all know McHale loves drafting winners.

yea, Joey Dorsey would be a nice second rd pick. He could teach Randolph and Brewer how to lift weights.

According to some local newspapers here in Serbia, McHale is in Croatia and he is scouting some players from our regional league( http://www.adriaticbasket.com ). As they say he's watching Uros Tripkovic, but I don't believe it's true, because Uros is one of most hated players here. Great shooter but nothing besides that. Can play SG but he's more skinnier than Brewer is, turnover prone, bad ball control etc. There are few other players that he could be watching. Tepic (combo guard, younger version of Jaric with better shooting), Pekovic dominant center here in Europe but probably not worth drafting as he counts more on his strength what he wont be able to do in NBA. Also it's said that he will sign a long time contract with one team from Europe so his coming to NBA is under question mark. Only other player that he could be scouting is Ante Tomic. To be honest, I haven't watched him too much but he's 7-footer and to me, too skinny for nba.
Ask if you want some more informations

Thanks for the tip. Have you seen Pekovic play? I've read that his game took a big jump this year and was a probable first round pick, but I've also read, like you said, that he's signing a big money deal in Europe.

Since we have extra picks in the second round, do you think he'd be worth drafting and keeping in Europe for 2 or 3 years and then trying to bring over? In other words, do you think he can improve enough to be a decent NBA big man with a couple years experience?

Yeah, I've watched him many times. He's playing really well this season, but he's in most times much stronger than the oposite player he's playing against, and he usually uses that to dominate. He can't shoot the ball, his range is like 7-8 feet at most and I don't see this to improve. His basketball IQ is not very high and he's quite bad passer. My opinion is that he doesn't have the size to play C in nba, and he's not versatile enough to play at PF. On the other hand he's great rebounder, energetic, has high FG%, and he plays tough...
I don't know, I wouldn't like to see him in Timberwolves but who knows. He might become better version of Turiaf or Maxiell, if he isn't allready... Maybe the McHale will like him for his hard working, and draft him in lower 2nd round...

Some tournement/draft tidbits from Chad Ford. Interesting how brutal he is on Hibbert.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2008/insider/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&page=TourneyWatch-080327&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnba%2fdraft2008%2finsider%2fcolumns%2fstory%3fcolumnist%3dford_chad%26page%3dTourneyWatch-080327

The first weekend of March Madness is behind us, and NBA scouts and executives are chiming in about who helped and hurt their draft stock in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament.
Most NBA talent evaluators aren't putting a huge emphasis on the past two games -- a few players shined and a few prospects stumbled -- but here's what we're hearing.
Also, don't forget to check out our most updated Top 100 to see how players are moving up and down the draft board.

Quite bad, I doubt he came to fish here. :D
Maybe he came to visit ex-assistant coach of the Timbervolwes, Aleksandar Dzikic which is now head coach of one team from adriatic league. And there's another prospect in Dzikic's team. Goran Dragic. Small PG, I don't like him.

I wouldnt complain about him in the second!

Or, I think it would be pretty cool to get both Lopez boys, Brook at #3 or #4 and Robin with Miami's pick in round two. But it sounds like Robin might be playing his way into the late first round.

I'll be right there with you.

I'm also glad to hear that McHale is in Europe doing his homework. Please no Ndudi Ebi's this year.

I think this draft is idiot proof. A top 5 pick, with 7 legit talents and then he gambles with the 2nd rd picks. I am excited for this draft.

isn't there an actually legal website to watch all the march madness games for free? I want to see the Lopez twins tonight and I hate the CBS coverage where they just show whoever the hell they want and switch coverage whenever.

http://www.sportsline.com/

When you get to the site just click on the link, it's the orange banner near the top. You can then select which game you want to watch. It killed my work productivity the couple days of the tournament.

I think they usually choose to show the most competitive games...How can you argue with that?
